"Beware of Feldco. Misleading Sales Tactics. We had windows, siding, gutters, facet, soffiting, and a back door and storm door installed. Salesman stated two payments. 50% down to start the job and remaining due at completion and satisfaction of the jobs. They wanted payment after each job. Workers left two windows unframed with pine shims and spray foam insulation sticking out. Back door lock was installed crooked, bottom weather stripping was ripped up, and worker destroyed my original oak trim around the door and installed white trim in place of it. Siding crew didnt speak english and I came home to them installing insulation board over my existing siding instead of taking old siding off. They were caught not replacing old rotted facet boards and tried installing over rotted out wood. Vinyl trim around the windows was not even. They had to come out three times to caulk the same window. Workers put up new gutters with large black scrape on the front. Sales presentation is recorded, but will not provide a copy of audio to customer."

"So let me begin by saying I had hail damage last May 2024 then a wind storm. My insurance company gave me money to replace my roof gutters and also some fascia. I posted on our local Facebook page who would be a good roofer in the area and was given this company. Let me just say sounded great when I first had a conversation with the owner “we know how to handle insurance companies. I have a friend who’s an adjuster who knows how to word things we can get it done” so over several months I am texting asking when are we getting to this roof? What are we doing, etc. then basically get told that they tried to contact my adjuster and they refuse to talk to anybody but me (I gave the direct extension & name for my adjuster). I called her and she said nobody ever called, we have a computer system that logs any incoming calls. So once again, another phone call and multitude of text messages one of which was a one of which was an irritated call from the owner saying this is why he doesn’t like to deal with insurance companies? I had explained on numerous occasions that my insurance company only gives me half the money once the job is completed. I need a certificate of completion and they will give me the other half of the money. I was told this is common with most insurance companies. We’re OK with that. They did not show up until the beginning of December to do my roof luckily there was two days of good weather. I then proceeded to text message the supervisor of the job asking for a certificate of completion so I could get the other half of the money. I then message the owner who called me yelling what do you mean you don’t have all the money I thought you had all the money oh my God it’s gonna take months to get that money. No my insurance company will put it right into my bank account in 3 to 5 days so can I please get the certificate of completion? *Now, on numerous occasions after the job was completed I had complained about the gutters leaking at the end caps and where the gutters overlapped. I also complained about the downspouts did not have extension pieces in the backyard so water was draining straight onto my foundation. I also complained about the multitude of nails screws and staples I kept finding in my yard on my deck, not to mention gutters, debris, construction nonsense on top of my pergola tools left on top of my roof, they came out and said we’re gonna do another sweep and clean everything up. I am still finding this nonsense in my yard and I have young grandchildren and dogs. Last month I called the city to find out when they were coming to inspect my roof and they tell me a permit was never pulled, and that I needed to file a complaint. In the meantime I had another contractor come out here to look at my windows and siding, who also does gutters and informs me how terrible the leaf guards were put on my gutters. They are bowing upward. I now have birds getting into my gutters and building nests and they used the incorrect screws to screw them down, so there are holes all along the top of the gutters. On day ONE I asked the supervisor to please connect the tubing from my bathroom exhaust to the roof. I had an inspector from Nipsco out here today basically stating that it’s just laying across the rafters it’s not connected to anything. I would advise anyone who has a phone conversation with the owner to record it because there is a lot of he said she said Which I started doing at the end."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

It’s common for the edges of new sod to turn brown, especially if they run up against heat-absorbing surfaces like driveways, rocks, or pavers. You can fix this problem with more concentrated watering at the edges of the lawn as it takes root. However, continuing brown problems or brown areas on the inside of the lawn are signs of a problem. The lawn could need more water, or the young grass could be under attack from fungi or other diseases.

Most professionals can install some putting greens in between one day and one week, but it depends on the size of the project and the complexity of the design. A small, simple putting green can take only a day to install, while a 2,000-foot-green with hills, slopes, and other challenging site features can take over a week. A DIY installation on flat, level ground will take a few days.

Yes, many providers offer custom sizes, colors, and designs. Confirm with your installer.

An outdoor putting green will last five to 15 years with proper maintenance. Keeping artificial turf clean or sod trimmed is essential for a long-lasting outdoor putting green, so expect to spend some time on upkeep. Although sunlight, rain, and snow can wear down the putting green, regular turf maintenance, like cleaning up debris and replacing worn-out sections, can extend the life of your green to hit that 15-year mark.

In the right market, a putting green in the backyard can add value to your property. You can reap an estimated 40 percent return on the investment.  Other than that, the value of a place to practice and play at home depends solely on your love of the game and desire to improve.
