"👍 💯 I trust Todd Cannon to show up when he says he will, go above & beyond to complete the job quickly, & charge a very fair rate. We all know how hard it is to find all three of those things in one guy. Bonus- Todd used to work at Microsoft, so he has excellent nerd skills too! Also, my dogs love him. I recently had 9 new trees planted. So I laid out soaker hose with a Bluetooth timer on the spigot so I could set it and forget it. I needed Todd’s help to install it & get the app paired to my phone. That saved me time, money & the huge hassle of trying to find someone to come to my house to water 3x per week. My old-ish dryer wasn’t heating and I was sure I needed to buy a new one. Todd fixed it in 10 minutes with a $30 part, saving me hundreds of dollars. That’s how it usually goes with Todd! I trust Todd. He’s welcome to use the code to my door & work in my home when no one is home (except my dogs). I highly recommend Todd for your handy & tech needs!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Poorly designed and incorrectly installed outlets can create an electrical fire hazard, as do some phone chargers and adapters that plug into these outlets. However, most outlets are perfectly safe as long as they remain in working condition. Keep an eye on what you are plugging into the outlet and stay alert for signs of outlet malfunction, like sparks, burning smell, or frequent circuit tripping.

Burning a single palm tree stump, if you’re careful, is technically doable DIY. However, you should always take precautions to control the fire and do research if you’re burning multiple types of trees.

Some trees, such as ornamental trees, black cherry, and some oak trees, release toxins into the air when burned that can be irritating to your lungs (or even dangerous) to breathe in.

Baking soda is an effective fire reduction method. However, flour and baking powder are very dangerous around flames. Flour is flammable and it can also conduct electricity. The combination can cause serious injury from electrical shock and worsen the situation by adding fuel to the fire. Baking powder is also not an option as it's also highly flammable.

Glass block windows aren’t fire hazards; fire-rated glass block windows can increase your home’s fire safety. Modern glass blocks are made with materials that can resist high temperatures and prevent fire spread. Most offer a 45-minute fire rating, while some increase it to two hours. Compared to the typical 20 to 90 minute rating for a double-pane window, glass block can increase your home’s safety in the event of a fire.

You can relight a pilot light by yourself, but it’s not always the safest choice to do so. While the job is straightforward, a small mistake could end in a gas leak, fire, or explosion. That’s why we recommend everyone hire a pro for this job. Local furnace pros have lit dozens if not hundreds of pilot lights, and they’re well-versed and highly experienced in the proper safety protocols to keep you, your family, and your home safe while doing so.
