Another vendor quoted $250 for a 10' ceiling (which I would have done myself) and $350 for the extra 5 feet. Doolittle quoted $89 service call plus $40 for each 15 minutes - about an hour estimated, so about $250 for the total job. The job was completed in a flash and the total bill was $169. Workers (forgot their names!) were very professional and communicated with me the whole way. They took care to protect my wood flooring and assembled the fan (and extending rod) in crazy fast time. I highly recommend Doolittle as my experience was nothing short of extremely satisfying!"

With proper maintenance, exterior concrete steps can last 25 to 50 years or more. Unlike other fence types that require you to set posts in concrete or foam, you only need the dirt you took from the post hole for split rail fencing. Split rail fencing is initially a budget-friendly option. However, it’s not as long-lasting as other fence types, meaning you could pay more on the back end because you may need to replace fence posts or rails that come loose or rot.

Like all building materials, concrete weakens with age due to temperature changes, moisture, and cracks that widen over time. Keep in mind that there are ways to keep your concrete strong by resealing it every two to three years, avoiding harsh cleaning chemicals, and addressing small cracks as quickly as possible.

If there is standing liquid on your concrete, remove it before attempting any of the above cleaning methods. For small amounts of water, use rags, a bucket, and a mop. For larger areas of liquid, lay down cat litter or baking soda to soak up the water first. If you have extremely large pools of water sitting on your concrete, break out the wet vac and get to work.

Concrete pools have the longest life span. As long as you properly maintain your concrete pool, you can expect it to last 50 to 100 years. That said, you will need to resurface your concrete pool as it ages. Fiberglass is durable, but fiberglass pools generally only last around 25 to 30 years. That said, some high-end fiberglass pools can last more than 50 years if they’re well-maintained.
