Customers say: Quick response

"We hired Tri State Concrete to remove and redesign an old driveway, patio, walkway and stoop. From start to finish, Omar and his crew worked above and beyond to ensure we loved our concrete. They show up when scheduled, and contacted us if they were running late. His crew is professional, friendly and never seemed flustered with my last minute changes. The driveway and two walkways were poured three years ago, and there's not even a hairline crack. Probably because they take time to get the underlayment of rock and rebar correct. The recent work removing an ugly driveway and pouring a lovely cottage walkway is superior. Omar even comes out after a few weeks to check the finished product. Their pricing and professionalism is unmatched. We will always use Omar and highly recommend Tri State Concrete."

Small jobs welcome

"We are very happy with the stamped concrete. We had an awful, shaded, muddy area where grass wouldn’t really grow and with two dogs, an improvement was needed. The results are amazing! Before and after pictures speak volumes!"

"Greg did an amazing job on removing the old patio, hauling the debris away, prepping for the new patio, pouring and leveling the concrete. Afterwards, he cleaned the area where he had work. Great work, good price."

"I can’t say enough good things about Gold Star Concrete. Before they came out, I did not have a driveway, just grass. No gravel, no parking pad, nothing. They came out and completely transformed my front yard in just one day. By the end of the day, there was a beautiful, clean-lined concrete driveway where there had been nothing but lawn that morning. It looked like it had always been there. The team was on time, super professional, and really respectful of my property. They did not cut corners either, they graded everything properly, reinforced the base, and even suggested a subtle decorative edge that gave it a polished, custom look. It is not just a driveway, it is a huge upgrade to my home. Now I finally have a place to park, and it has made everyday life so much easier. If you are thinking about concrete work, especially if you are starting from nothing like I was, I cannot recommend Gold Star enough. They made the whole process easy, and the results speak for themselves."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

Yes, a pressure washer uses less water than a garden hose. There are many ways to use a pressure washer, and it can be an eco-friendly hose substitute. While a pressure washer expels water with greater force, it uses 50% to 70% less water than a garden hose. Specifically, hoses put out six to 10 gallons per minute (GPM), while pressure washers only use two to five GPM.

Filling small cracks in your driveway with patching material is usually the most affordable fix, costing about $2 to $3 per square foot. For larger damage, however, these repairs won’t last, so it’ll save you more to resurface or replace the driveway, depending on the extent of the issues.

You should always power wash your driveway before applying a sealant. At any given time, your driveway could be covered with algae and moss, tire residue, oil and rust stains, and any combination of leaves, twigs, and dirt. If you skip power washing, you’ll be trapping the dirt and grime beneath the sealant and lowering its chance of cementing itself to your driveway. While you can expect the cost to pressure wash your driveway to average between $100 and $350, the few hundred dollars beats an unattractive driveway or paying extra to reapply your driveway sealer.

Pressure washing your home or fence can make a major difference in the appearance and may even help extend the life of the structure you’re cleaning. Some of the most common areas that people pressure wash around their property include:

  • Driveway: $100–$250

  • Patio: $100–$200

  • Fence: $150–$300

  • Gutters: $50–$150

  • Roof: $450–$700

  • Siding: $150–$1,400

  • One-story house: $150–$750

  • Two-story house: $400–$1,400

  • Three-story house: $700–$1,800
