"The quality of the work was poor, the sod was laid and not rolled out which is preventing the sod from catching and causing the lawn to look uneven, the grass seed/ dirt was spread sporadically over the front lawn without focusing on the bare spots which was the ultimate goal of the seeding. (for treatment/solution to holes in the lawn to promote grass growth in those areas.) Also there was very little grass seeds or dirt spread to back lawn. I brought this to Kevin's attention and he said he would take care of it and that he ran out of dirt, also his response to my calls or e-mails was not timely or not at all. I called and text him on several occasions requesting that he comes to complete the job and he never showed up to complete the job as promised. I also feel the additional cost he charged ($1500) to lay 4 to 5 rolls of sod for 20 ft. x 24 ft. area (480 sq. ft.) , was over priced and he took advantage of me and I am a victim of price gouging. His initial quote he gave me was 3400 (for the seeding, retainer wall removal, aeration, power raking, cutting the grass, plant 1 bush) but I just noticed he has put 3500 on the contract so even in that instance I paid him $100 more than what was agreed upon. The contract that he wanted me to sign was very extensive and "construction focused" and did not address everything we had discussed for this project. It basically was an agreement to ensure payment and cover himself if I did not pay. When I noticed the contract did not list line by line description of the scope of the work I brought that to his attention and asked him to include what the job would intel ( work order) listing what we had talked about. He told me he would bring it when he came to do the job. I didn't receive anything, but he had already came to to start the job. By the time he finally came to start the job I had received a warning from the village due to my grass had grown more then 5 inches waiting for him to come and take care of cutting the grass when he was to start the project. The overall communication and follow up with this company is not good and they do not provide detailed scope of work orders even when requested."

"They were 1 of 3 quotes. We told them exactly what job we needed done. We dealt with Hector and Martha. They both reassured us that no problem they can get the job done. They quoted us (I have a contract) of $4,500. $3,500 is their labor 50 or and &1,000 would have been for materials. We were definitely going to go with better materials so we only really paid attention to their labor price of $3,500. They said the job would take 3 days and they told us they would start on a Monday. They postponed until Tuesday, they took a day off in the middle of the week for important business and they did not finish up until Sunday afternoon. My husband and I had been looking around every time they left and we were finding more and more things. Every day would bring it to their attention and she said they would fix. We did ask for two doors to be hung that was not on the original quote. At the end of everything she wanted $300 more than the original $3,500 quoted. I believe it was for the door hanging. I then proceeded to show her the hole in the arm of my brand new 2500 couch I showed her the paint that was all over the edge of my brand new carpet that was literally being installed the day they came to quote us I showed her there's no ventilation in the drop ceiling they never cut out vents the tracks in the ceilings do not meet the ceiling tiles do not fit light fixtures are falling the back door does not fit and they did not trim it out so we have gaps in our door and I believe the door frame is bent and useless the bathroom door does not shut due to it not fitting there is a cracked tile in the ceiling every piece of paneling has little holes or tears Nothing fits they painted the trim while on the walls so there's paint all over the paneling all over my floor the back door knob they have flipped upside down it does not lock will not work. There is broken trim they used my household vacuum to vacuum up their mess everyday where I had nails and screws coming out of the hoses ripping holes in my vacuum Some of the trim is not painted the same color as others They did not trim out the window There's not one job they were hired to do that was completely Done and done properly And all she told me the whole time was you owe me 300 I did the best I could or oh we don't do that you have to hire somebody else after they already tried doing the job and screwing it up. I'm sorry this was so much to message and the box was so small and I think this all came out thoroughly I really hope I didn't make a fool out of rambling. At the end I did pay the full $3,500 that was originally quoted even though I also had to replace paneling they broke for them just to turn around and reinstall it and break it again but they did get the full payment I did not renege on the contract. I forgot to add there were no holes or vents putting anything so I can't put outlet covers on I cannot put light switches on I can't do anything nothing is is ready"

"RVA completely redid our bathroom AND our whole basement. They did tile flooring, toilet, vanity and sink, a brand new tub/shower combo with glass doors, basement drywall, prime, paint, and trim. They installed carpet with tile at the landing of the stairs as well as in the office. They were so kind and professional. They did amazing work and communicated with us along the way. "I hired Price Point Builders AFTER Bruce had come out to look at our project. He was a terrific guy and had incredible ideas and a plan for us. He said our project could be completed in less than a day. No worries. We were excited to have him on board with our idea and anxiously awaited his email quote. 5 days later, still no quote. I texted him and left several messages before he finally sent it. It was fair pricing for what we were expecting him to do. After accepting his bid and digging a 2 foot deep x 2 foot wide x 24 foot long trench as he instructed us to do before Friday June 30th when he said he would be arriving to begin the project at 8am. June 30th: 8am came and went. No call, no text. I texted and called him SEVERAL times. At 11:30 he finally called me and said he would not be able to make it until Monday. I told him it was unacceptable as we had asphalt coming on Monday. We needed to wrap this up. He said he would have someone come and start it but it would be a week before he could finish. I was so upset that he changed his story AFTER we accepted his bid and dug up our entire driveway next to our home for this to find he was not going to keep his word. He said that he drove by THAT MORNING to see if we dug the trench. ( I was calling and texting him for 3.5 hours, but he did not have the decency to reply - yet, he found it acceptable to drive by and not stop or contact me???) He actually started giving me all kinds of excuses as to why he could not do the job as promised and told me how busy he was. Then, he told me that my husband told him something about the job that was completely untrue - and was placing blame on my husband! Then, Bruce started making insinuations that I was lying about having asphalt laid the day before a holiday. I had ENOUGH. I called my husband and told him what Bruce had said and done, and my husband told me to call him and fire him now. I fired him on the spot. I told him we would not need his services and would be replacing him with another company. As I was telling him why, he kept talking over me like what I had to say just didn't matter. (and to him, it didn't matter.) Our entire project was put on hold and our timeline moved because he was not reliable. That is what it boils down to. It is a shame because he has an incredible mind and great ideas...just horrible follow-through. If you value your time, find a contractor who values your time as well."
