"If you want the best looking patio on your block then CD & Son Concrete Inc is who you need to call! We just recently had them pour our back patio and add concrete onto our driveway. From getting the quote to getting the work completed, the communication was top notch and very professional. The owner Dean walked me through every step and even made sure to lay wood down to protect our lawn! Dean also has the best concrete stamper around Chris! It was worth every penny for them to get this completed. Our kids and family love it already so much! The pictures of the patio says it all and they don't even give it justice the work that was put into it! I want to add that others have added concrete onto their driveways in my neighborhood, but ours is the only one that matches our driveway perfectly in color and texture! So I highly recommend them for all your concrete needs!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Good, quick work. The driveway looks good. They had to move heavy landscaping boulders, take out a tree, and put in a drain to keep water out of the garage. No problems with any of that. The latter didn't completely work, but not because of anything wrong with the work they did. The water is still coming under the garage door because the existing garage slab is apparently not graded correctly. They didn't say they could fix that in particular. Also, they smoothed the transition out to the street, which is nice. But, in doing so, they filled in the rain gutter that runs down the side of the road, so water collects at the end of the drive. I should have realized that would happen, but it's a little annoying. These are minor issues, though, and the work is high quality, was done promptly, and was accomplished without much of any oversight by me. I really appreciated that. Though the whole job it was pricey, he charged me exactly what he quoted."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Postponing asphalt paving in Linton, IN, exposes your driveway to significant risks. The area's freeze-thaw cycles will expand existing cracks, while the clay-heavy soil can shift and cause foundation issues. Delaying repairs can lead to escalating costs, turning minor fixes into a full replacement. A deteriorated surface also creates slip hazards during icy Indiana winters and can negatively impact your home's curb appeal and resale value.

Helpful?

In Linton, IN, signs that your asphalt paving needs to be redone include extensive alligator cracking and uneven surfaces from frost heave. Puddles of standing water after rain indicate drainage failure, a common issue with the area's clay soil. Other indicators are crumbling edges, potholes, a gray and brittle surface from oxidation, or numerous patches, which suggest the underlying structure has failed.

Helpful?

Quality asphalt paving in Linton, IN, starts with a proper base of at least 4-6 inches of compacted aggregate to handle the clay soil. The finished surface should be smooth, with a 1-2% slope for drainage and no low spots where water can pool. Look for clean, well-defined edges that resist crumbling and an asphalt thickness of at least 2-3 inches for durability through seasonal changes.

Helpful?

When comparing quotes in Linton, watch for red flags like unusually low bids, which may signal corner-cutting on base preparation crucial for IN's clay soil. Be wary of contractors who demand cash-only payments, use high-pressure sales tactics, or fail to provide a detailed written contract. A professional should always specify the asphalt thickness and be able to provide local references for their recent work.

Helpful?

Yes, combining asphalt paving with other projects in Linton, IN, is a smart way to save. You can bundle it with concrete sidewalk repairs, drainage solutions like French drains to manage clay soil, or major landscaping. This approach saves on equipment mobilization fees and allows for coordinating Greene County permits. It's most efficient to schedule these combined projects during the optimal late spring to early fall construction season.
