"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. The hinges and hardware are high quality. We are extremely pleased with AWD and would recommend them to any friends or family looking for good cabinets at a fair price."

"Beyond The Four Walls Construction is absolutely fantastic and has reasonable prices. My Contractor, Courtney, is very knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of his craft. All work was completed as discussed and to specifications. At the onset of looking for a contractor, I was very nervous and uncertain, as to who, I would let do my job. Courtney, is honest, a good listener, dependable, reliable, shows up as scheduled, confident, patient, understanding and aware of current design styles and trends. No matter what issues were uncovered, Courtney, addressed them, with no problem. I was impressed and pleased. I have plans for additional renovations and have already scheduled them for next year. I highly recommend Beyond The Four Walls Construction, for ALL your remodeling and renovation needs."

"He did a good job. He was actually able to mix some paint up and match the paint that I had up on the wall. He was the one that painted the kitchen the first time and I had made a mistake. There was a spot over the base heater and I couldn't match the paint. When the tenant moved in, he didn't like the paint color I had chose so I called Heniff. He was the one that did the original paint in the kitchen and he was able to match the paint that I had on the wall and repaint over the area and then the areas in the kitchen that needed to be repainted. I was happy with it.
I think the price was decent. He didn't paint the whole kitchen but then I didn't have to buy any paint. I didn't know if that was supposed to include the paint in there but I couldn't get any paint. Going to the store and matching it up, I'd already tried it on my own and couldn't do it. He was able to match the paint up and have the kitchen looking the way it was supposed to look."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Closet design services include help designing and laying out your closet for maximum utility, visual appeal, and return on investment. Many closet designers can also include the carpentry required to construct your custom closet. You should speak with your designer beforehand to determine what services are included in the estimate, and prepare to lay out additional funds for materials or labor as needed.

Since they are so fragile, it is not usually recommended to stack anything on top of your packed lamps. If you have sturdy boxes, and what you plan to put on top of them is of a similar weight, it’s okay to stack.

Although you can complete a closet frame in just an afternoon, finishing the entire closet will take a few days to a week. However, that’s still not as much as the average time it takes to remodel a closet, which can take anywhere from several weeks to more than a month. That’s because you also have to consider the time it will take to demolish the existing space, plan a new design, order materials, and actually install it.

Yes, 12-inch shelves are often considered the standard closet shelf depth for storing folded clothing, shoes, and small containers. However, if you plan to store bulky items such as blankets, baskets, or cleaning supplies, you may want to go deeper. For specialized layouts, an adjustable system can give you more flexibility.

Yes, adding a built-in or custom closet generally increases your home's value and makes it more attractive to potential buyers. A well-designed closet adds utility, organization, and a touch of luxury, which are appealing selling points. Most homeowners see a return on investment (ROI) of 50% to 60%; for example, a custom closet can add about $1,000 to your home's value on average. The specific ROI depends on the type, with custom walk-in closets typically providing more value than reach-in closets. However, to maximize value, ensure the closet doesn't significantly detract from the room's usable square footage. Converting an entire room into a closet can actually lower your home's value. Similarly, using overly lavish materials may not recoup their cost. A good strategy is to add a closet that takes square footage from a non-living area, such as a garage, to create a mudroom closet.
