Morris Construction, was started in 2012. We take pride in our quality work, and offering quality prices. Why pay big for huge companies that will sub contract out their services, and deal with sales men/women who have no idea how to even do the work. Morris Construction knows the inside and out of the trade. Free estimates from an installer.

"The shut off valve for my water heater would not shut off the water, and needed replaced. In addition, the water heater factory drain valve used for twice a year flushing of the water heater was plugged, and would not drain. When asked, another plumbing company that was out for some other work said they no longer open drains on water heaters due to the fact the shut off valves often leak after being disturbed. Indy water heater replaced the original shut off valve with a well made ball valve. I had a quick connect ball valve that they would have been willing to use, but when I saw the construction of the one they had, I chose to go with theirs. In addition, they removed the plastic water heater drain valve and replaced it with a short extension, ball valve, and adapter for a garden hose fitting. Then the plumber flushed the water heater, with lots of white flakes coming out of the hose. When looking at the plastic factory valve, it was no wonder it clogged due to a vary small passage when fully open. He mentioned the water heaters they sell come with a larger drain valve. All my questions were answered, I received a call in advance of the arrival, and the plumber cleaned up the area after the work. Overall, a very professional job."

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

Due to the high temperature, using stainless steel vent pipes for your tankless water heater’s exhaust vent is best. Also, it is safe to use a flexible vent duct as the exhaust fan. If installing the exhaust fan yourself, make sure you are using heat-resistant silicon to connect the exhaust vent and the duct on your water heater.

On average, a tankless water heater should last between 10 and 15 years. Its lifespan will be affected by how much it's used, the effect of weather where your home is on the unit—colder is harsher and will shorten lifespan—and if the heater is maintained appropriately and regularly. There are many signs your water heater needs to be replaced, so pay attention to anything that changes with your heater or hot water.

Converting a gas water heater to an electric one can cost between $870 and $4,100, depending on the installation scope, plumbing and electrical needs, and the water heater model. However, it’s always better to contact a local pro for a more accurate quote. Also, since natural gas is cheaper than electricity in most regions, you should prepare yourself for a higher monthly cost after the initial conversion.

If you're replacing a broken water heater, now is a great time to make sure you're selecting a unit that has the right capacity for your household. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, a small 50-gallon to 60-gallon tank is sufficient for households with one to three people. A medium-sized 80-gallon tank is considered ideal for three to four people. A larger tank may be needed if your household has four to six people.

Water expands when heated and also when freezing. When water is heated, it expands by around 4%. For a full water heater, this is one of the main reasons malfunctions occur—the hot water has nowhere else to go but out. Due to the constant expansion and reduction in volume, it’s recommended (required in most places) that an expansion tank be installed.
