"TERRIBLE PEIPLE TO WORK WITH. IM OUT $50. It took about 2 weeks to get Brian out to give me an estimate. At that time, he told me he charges $50 for an estimate which goes towards the work if he’s hired. He’d not mentioned that before and it was a red flag but I gave him the $50 and he said he’d be back on 7/19. I texted him the day before to confirm and he didn’t respond. So I texted again that evening and the text wouldn’t deliver. I called and a msg said I was calling from a restricted number, he blocked me! I called Cameron the next morning and explained what happened and he said he was trying to reach Brian as well. He told me he’d come out and do the work and would call me back with some options of when he could come. Four days have passed and no call back. I’ve tried calling again and his mailbox is full. TERRIBLE WAY TO DO BIZ!!"

"We hired Matt Fisher (Owner of A and M Property Services) to stain our deck and replace a few deck boards. On 5/8/18 I paid for the supplies up front ($555), signed a contract, and was going to pay for the labor upon completion. On 5/8/18 Matt left a voicemail stating that he was going to start on the deck soon. A few days after he left the voicemail, a worker (told me his name was Keegan) put one coat of stain on half of the deck. The same worker didn't return until Friday 5/25/18 where he replaced the 3 deck boards but did no more staining. That was the last time any work was done on the deck and since then Matt has basically been non-responsive. I called Matt on Tuesday 5/29/18 and he said that he could not get in touch with his employee Keegan. I called Matt again on Monday 6/4/18 and left a voicemail and told him to call me ASAP. I called Matt again on Tuesday 6/5/18 and left a voicemail stating that I would like my deck done. Since he was clearly avoiding my phone number, I called him again on Thursday 6/7/18 from another cell phone number - he answered this time. He said that Keegan has the materials and he can't get in contact with him and that he had no money to replace the materials. I clearly explained that Keegan is his employee and that he is responsible for his business. He still gave me excuses about it. That was the last time I actually spoke with Matt Fisher. I called again on 6/13/18 and left a voicemail and a text message stating that I expected one of three things: 1.) My deck stained and completed, 2.) My money back minus the 3 pieces of wood that had already been replaced, or 3.)The return of the supplies that were to be purchased with the $555. He never returned that voicemail or text message."

"Terrible company. Possibly a scam. They attempted to sell me a part they didn't even have, and after waiting patiently for OVER A MONTH, I canceled my order. When calling them to confirm, they told me they never had the part to sell to me. What a joke!"

Lawn Tool Repair questions, answered by experts

In many cases, it might be cheaper to repair your lawn mower than to replace it, depending on what needs to be repaired. The cost to replace a lawn mower dramatically varies, from $60 for basic models to over $15,000 for the top-of-the line models.

Small repairs like a spark plug replacement can be as little as $20, so replacing the whole lawn mower wouldn’t make much sense. However, repairing a crankshaft could be much more expensive at $500 to $900, so depending on the age of your mower, it might be best to replace it. It’s best to speak with your lawn mower repair technician to determine which option is best for you.

The American ideal of a large, perfectly-manicured lawn is tied to the post-World War II suburban housing boom. In the decades that followed, technological advances made self-propelled mowers more affordable and plentiful. Many Americans came to see reel mowers as old-fashioned, inconvenient, and time-consuming, and they eventually fell out of fashion.

Lawnmowers require seasonal maintenance to continue working correctly. With routine maintenance, you can extend its life to the fullest, which is around 10 years for push mowers and 5-8 years for riding mowers. To keep your lawn mower working correctly, you’ll want to take the following steps at least once a year:

  • Replace the spark plug

  • Change the oil

  • Drain the fuel tank

  • Clean the mowing deck (ideally, after every mow)

  • Replace the air filter

  • Check the carburetor

  • Sharpen the blades

  • Fog the engine

  • Check the tires

Tune up your lawn mower once a year or every 100 hours of run-time.

Engine failure, clogged carburetors, dull blades, and electrical issues are common problems requiring service.
