"STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They took my 1st half deposit and then vanished. I have called multiple times. Spoke with someone once and they promised a call back. Never did. Emailed and no response. This was over 4 months ago. Nothing. They stole my money. Sales guy was John Mullikin. Here's their class-act response by chat. The best response I've had yet. "Conversation closed by Erika"."

"We had a very unprofessional experience with Roto Rooter that ended in no solution and a decent amount of money lost. We called Roto rooter because we were having flooding in our crawl space. This company claims to do water restoration and plumbing services, so they seemed like the best place to call. I clearly explained our situation to the phone operator and he helped me schedule for both a plumber AND a technician to come out so see if they could see what was going on. When the day of service came, they only sent a plumber who acted like he thought he was coming to unclog a pipe, which isn't close to the issue I explained over the phone. The man was rude and unprofessional from the very beginning. He shined a flashlight into our crawlspace and clean-out, told us he couldn't go down there or do anything, and offered to jet the line. While we were upset that he didn't look into the problem at all, we decided to go ahead with jetting the line. Just a few days prior, we were quoted approximately $400 for this job, but the plumber came back and said it would be over $900. When asked why the price was over double the initial quote, we were told they can't give accurate quotes over the phone. However, the plumber said there was "no way it would ever be that cheap", if that's the case, why did the office give us a number? I feel like it's a marketing trick and do not appreciate the deception. I do understand why the plumber didn't want to go into the crawl space, however I clearly explained the situation BEFORE scheduling a service call and was told they could check it out. The plumber said they would never go into a wet crawlspace (again, I understand why) so why would the office send someone out knowing they couldn't do a thing? The only reasonable assumptions I can make: They knew they couldn't help before they came, and figured they would get a full $210 service fee for 5 minutes of work OR that we would give in and pay for jetting the line even though it was over double the initial quote. The rudeness we experienced from staff offered no other insight, so no other assumptions can be made. I am highly disappointed, hurt, and out $210 at a time when we are hurting to get this repair done at all. Please take my words into account before hiring this company. There is a major disconnect between the office and the technicians, and neither have good customer service skills."

"I hired Paul Davis to lay laminate flooring in my kitchen and hallway. My ice maker coil leaked that lead to my kitchen walls, kitchen floors, hallway, and my small bathroom to get wet. This claim started in Nov of 2021. I got an estimate from Paul Davis from my insurance company. To pull the cabinets out in my kitchen to repair the wall, put the cabinets back in, redo the trim in the small bathroom, lay the flooring, etc... It was close to 5000. The only documents or paperwork given to me about the cost and work that needed done was the estimate. In it, documented my small bathroom being redone with trim, the washer and dryer area being redone with drywall, counters, trim, etc.... Originally, we thought my kitchen cabinets had to be pulled out to repair a wall that got wet, but just taking off the counter, we found out, there was no wall, (there's no wall, to be fixed with no cabinets pulled out and back again to be charged).... More then half of the work did not get done. I received, finally, a bill after a month and half. It was NOT an itemized bill like I asked! It just has what is due which is around 4600. Ok. I asked for an itemized bill because after dealing with them for a few months, I knew, they would overcharge. If an itemized bill can not be issued, clearly there's charges on it that should not be charged. This was one of the most stressful and terrible experiences of my life. The first time that someone came out to do work, was a man and a woman. She said that she was still training. All they did was take off my kitchen counter to try to look at the kitchen wall to see if it was damaged. It turns out, a previous owner had that part of the wall removed. It must of flooded and got wet at a different time. There was just a small piece of the wall from under the sink that had mold that I pointed out. I said I would paint it with mold primmer. The guy said he was leaving to get mold primmer spray paint. I did not think spray paint was a good idea, the spot was small and could be reached with a paint brush. He got primer and missed the spot and got paint on the inside of my cabinets. Then he put the counter back on not even flush against the wall and my paint chipped and cracked around the counter. The only part of the wall that needed repaired was a small area behind my fridge. He really replaced a small amount of drywall then mudded it, then told me to sand it and paint it and left. These people did a terrible job. The girl was new. These were not highly trained and skilled employees and the job was small and done horrible. This charge should not be crazy high. I have pics. Then the paint and floor guy was suppose to come out and never showed up. Finally, the painter was calling me at work, like three times saying he's on his way to paint! Nobody scheduled this appointment. I had to leave work! Then I asked before the work even got started if I could pick up the paint color and flooring. Yea that's a joke. I had to pick a color on the phone! So I just said like an off white!!!! Who picks a color on the phone! He didn't fix the counter and painted an area that looks like he put concrete on the wall because it was so thick. He missed a part of the wall. I ended up repainting most and painted all my trim, door, window, etc.... He didn't even prep the walls. He even said yea, I'm suppose to wait between coats and do so many, but.....I got to get it all done in a day. Oh ok super. The floor people didn't show again. Then, they would just pop up whenever. It took days for 3 people to do that..... All they did was smoke cigarettes and fight. They were not highly trained or ever even laid that material either. They had to remove my old tiles and concrete the floor. Of course they waited to do under the dryer and washer last. It was wet and they had to finish that day and just laid that on wet ground and didn't concrete under that. Then when they removed my trim, they tore my wall! They didn't do all the door transitions which oh I'm sure I got charged for them! They even had a door transition ordered and it wasn't even for my house and I am pretty sure I payed for that! When they got down they would wait in my house laying on the floor for a ride even sleeping! They took the Menards rebate when I payed for the supplies! After he charged me even more for my flooring when they took a sample and did an estimate then charged me like double! I even broke up and trashed my laminate flooring. They even put trash in my outside garbage can but charged me to get rid of materials! My tiles cracked because it took them so long to start working. I work third shift, I would have to rush home then not sleep and this was for weeks. At one point, I got a call, they were dropping off my flooring so I had to get home!!!! Or I guess it would be left outside! I had to guess what, leave work again!I was even scared to sleep because I could get robbed because one dude woke me when I slept once asking me about my collection in a different room!! Finally I said don't do the trim, you have messed up everything! Then they wanted to use my old baseboards but charge me ? He then told me to pick between baseboards or trim. I said no so he said he won't put trim just new baseboards and he will be so kind to take half the cost and I just need to pay 100 more!!!! I went and brought trim and new baseboards and it was a total of 150! Including more wall covering to try to cover my torn wall! Then he had me sign some paper and not sleeping for days, I was worn out. I just signed because I couldn't fight. Then I realized after he left, that probably was retyped and not the original estimate and he just had me sign that to force me to pay him in a contract and was rewrote to not include everything because he left with it and I didn't get a copy! That guy was manipulating and trying to charge a single mother with no child support a fortune because he was playing mind games lying. He would keep changing the price on everything. I could write so so so much more, I paid my bill knowing I just got screwed. This is a horrible company. I do not recommended them. In order to fix all their mistakes in just the hallway, I had to remove my wallpaper, fix the walls, and paint the walls! Then since my counter was not flush against my kitchen wall and there was not caulk or anything to stop water from trickling down the wall behind my sink, it smells like mold under my sink when you open the cabinets, exactly what I told the company would happen!!!!! This company even showed up at my mom's house asking about a fire she just had asking for work! I was sitting right there like really! Don't hire them!!!! I have to hire someone to fix my counter! I want to sue them!"

Honorable Home Repairs
Honorable Home Repairs
Honorable Home Repairs, Inc. has been serving customers in the Fort Wayne area since 2005. I have been in the home repair business over 35 years. We value honesty, integrity and pride ourselves in prompt customer service. We are family owned and operated. It is our pleasure to serve you! Dennis Hughes, Owner
"Dennis Hughes is NOT a licensed contractor in Allen County. We could never get him to show proof of insurance or bonding. I hope that this review will prevent someone from hiring this company. We hired him to redo a patio roof. The flashing around the utilities pipe was improperly done. The roofing was installed backwards and lacked the proper amount of nails. It was not connected to the house properly. The gutter was installed so that it was useless and prevented windows from opening. We tried to get him to correct the work but he always had some excuse for not doing the work. He was rude and combative and refused to bring his paperwork to prove he was licensed and insured. He yelled at me and my brother as we tried to help my mother resolve this issue. We finally had to hire someone else to completely redo it. I wish that the address for this work would not be revealed to Dennis."

FAQs for water and smoke damage repair projects in Howe, IN
The three methods or phases of water damage remediation are mitigation, remediation, and restoration. Mitigation is an emergency response that can include shutting off your water main or patching a hole in your roof from a fallen tree limb. Remediation includes drying the affected area, removing damaged materials, and dealing with any resulting mold growth.
