"First I would like to say that everyone I dealt with at ICSR was great! From Erika who made the appointments to Jeremiah who did the inspection, to Terry and his crew. They were all friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. Jeremiah explained in detail what needed done in my crawlspace. There was a lot of damage due to termites in the past. I knew this was what needed done as I had another Company look at it as well. They backed out because they thought the crawlspace was to narrow to get the work done. I agreed to Jeremiah's plan and about two weeks later Larry and his crew came out to do the work. I will say it again, Larry and his crew were great. They worked so hard and in horrible heat and humidity. They were always friendly and smiled when I saw them. Larry always let me know what they got done that day, and what the plan was for the next. "LG&E replaced my gas line. Had to have a contractor come out and re light the furnace, stove and water heater. They found a leak in the house. I called every 24 hour plumber I could find in Louisville. Then I tried Becht/Givens. I received a follow up call in under 30 minutes. Anthony Owen was very patient with me, while I was panicked. He explained pricing from the simplest problem, to replacing the whole thing. He came out, found it to be a very simple issue, fixed it, re lit the water heater. All of this ....in less than 2 hours. I will always use these guys from here on out. Didn't try to stick me with unnecessary crap. Very respectful. And ...oh yeah....less than 100 bucks. Thank you."

Roof vents help cool a house because as they allow hot air to escape, the temperature regulates inside the attic. If vents are defective or there are not as many as there should be, the attic becomes hot and stuffy. Without roof vents, air conditioning has to work harder to maintain a consistent temperature in the attic.

We recommend that you cut batts of fiberglass insulation with a sharp utility knife. However, in a pinch, you can use tools such as a box cutter or even a pair of scissors. No matter what cutting tool you use, just make sure it’s sharp so you get a clean, straight cut. Always cut along the back (foil) side of the fiberglass, rather than the “fuzzy” side of the material.

The most affordable way to insulate behind unfinished walls is to install fiberglass batts or rolls. These total around $0.75 per linear foot, with the width matching the gaps between standard studs perfectly. However, it’s important to consider the R-value of your insulation and the climate in your area, as fiberglass insulation isn’t the best in terms of preventing heat transfer. Plus, the most affordable option may cost more on electricity bills over time. The most affordable way to insulate behind finished walls is to leave them up and use blown-in insulation to avoid drywall replacement.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

PEX pipe does not need to be insulated if passing through interior walls or insulated external walls. However, despite its resistance to cracking, you should still insulate PEX pipe in unheated areas if you experience cold winters in your local area. Otherwise, repeated freezing and thawing may weaken the pipes over time and create the risk of bursting.
