"Had an old double main kitchen sink that was leaking and one side couldn't be used. Chance installed a new sink of our choice so now we can use the entire sink. He fixed the drain line to ensure the leaking stopped and sealed the edges of the sink to the countertop. We continue to be happy with his work after he previously installed a toilet and water heater for us."

At PG Plumbing we have a simple yet powerful reason for starting our plumbing company: to bring a breath of fresh air to the plumbing industry in Fort Wayne and Allen County.\n\nWith the rise of large corporate plumbing conglomerates, we noticed the disappearance of the small, locally-owned plumbing businesses that once thrived in our community. This inspired us to step in and make a difference.\n\nOur mission is clear: we are here to provide our customers with cost-effective, personal experiences rather than prioritizing profit margins. We understand the frustration that often comes with plumbing issues, and our goal is to alleviate that stress with a service you can trust.\n\nWe invite you to choose PG Plumbing a local, employee-owned, reliable, and trustworthy team, for all your plumbing needs. "I found AAA Sewer & Drain Cleaning online and sent a information request via email. Jim gave me a call the next day and offered a fair quote (even with driving to the edge of his servicible area). I asked for his advice in another plumbling area and he joyfully checked it out after his job was done. Jim and Rob were a pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with them again!"

"Nick from PG Plumbing was prompt, friendly, and thorough when I called to have a broken toilet fixed. While he was there, I mentioned that my shower wasn’t getting very hot, and he immediately looked into the plumbing and fixed some of the settings. When checking the shower after making the adjustments, he noticed that the sink faucets were crooked and let me know that he could fix them easily, as well. I’ve also been wanting a reverse osmosis water filter for the whole house, which he said he could do, and even walked me through more affordable alternatives. The price for the reverse osmosis system was far less than I expected, so I ended up going with that. I decided to change the look of the faucets and shower head too, and he helped me understand what options I needed to look for in order to work with our plumbing and will be back to install them all. Everything was so easy and affordable, I will definitely be using PG Plumbing again in the future."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Many parts of your plumbing system can fail, but clogged drains are one of the biggest plumbing problems you’ll likely encounter. From your kitchen sink, bathroom sink, or bathtub, there are plenty of opportunities for gunk, hair, food scraps, and more to get stuck in drains. When this happens, water will slowly drain, leading to standing water, bad odors, drain flies, and other issues.

Many homeowners can handle a minor clog themselves, but if you have a clog in your main line, you’re best off hiring a local plumber to get the drain back to its normal flow rate.

Yes, an ambitious homeowner could decide to replace their own toilet. A person attempting to do a DIY toilet installation should keep in mind that the average toilet weighs between 100 and 120 pounds. That means that you'll need to be comfortable lifting and carrying your old toilet and replacement toilet during both phases of the project. Additionally, homeowners will need to have basic plumbing knowledge to avoid plumbing problems that could result in messy, expensive water damage in their bathrooms. Hiring a plumbing pro from the get-go can help you avoid damaging your plumbing or your new toilet.

Brown stains in your toilet bowl are most likely limescale. Limescale happens from lime being left behind from hard water evaporating. Once dried out, the minerals also catch dirt and bacteria which eventually accumulate into the brown or blackish stain you see in your toilet. To remove thick and hard limescale from your toilet, use a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda, and scrub with a metal scrubbing brush.

The toilet should rest 10, 12, or 14 inches from the back wall. As for other clearances, 15 inches is the minimum distance from the flange to any side wall or nearby fixture, including the shower, tub, and sink. Modern codes also require at least 24 inches of clear space in front of the toilet.

Common problems include leaks, clogs, and running water. Regular maintenance prevents most issues.
