"The Long and Winding Road (Through the Mountains and the Valleys) --- Our family recently decided to move from Indiana to North Carolina, approximately 600 miles away. In doing so, we needed to enlist the assistance of a moving company. I called several companies to get quotes for moving enough furnishings to fill a 3,000 square foot home. All of the "big box" moving companies came with brochures and fancy sells pitches. Kenny, the owner of Red Cheetah Moving, came with a handshake and a smile. After talking to Kenny, I felt more at ease with him than with anyone else. He walked through our home to get an idea of what we had to move. He estimated how many trucks it would take and how many movers. He then sent me an estimate that was comparable to all the rest. Needless to say, we hired Kenny and Red Cheetah Moving to get us from Indiana to our new destination. Leading up to the move, my nerves were a mess. Kenny did everything he could to reassure me that the move would go smoothly. Kenny, his crew and his trucks arrived right on time the morning we were scheduled to move. These guys were great! Not only did they load us up quickly (as quickly as you can load so much stuff), but they did so professionally. Once loaded, they began the long drive to North Carolina. Because of the distance between, Kenny kept us informed of their whereabouts on a periodic basis to ensure me that everything was going as planned. About 11 hours later, not only did they deliver the contents to our new house in North Carolina, but also to a storage facility for the extras that couldn't fit into the house we are renting until our new home is build. The men unloaded the trucks box by box, taking note of the final resting place marked on top of each box. Even after the long hours packing and even longer hours on the road and unpacking, the movers were as pleasant then as they were the first moment they knocked on our door back in Indiana. Thank you Kenny and Red Cheetah Moving!! Update (fast forward 1 year to January 2017): It is about time for us to move from the rental to our new home. I sure wish Kenny and Red Cheetah Moving were here! I could sure use their help getting us moved to our new home!!"

"It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

Home Staging questions, answered by experts

Yes, many professional stagers offer rental options for high-quality furnishings during the selling process.

The main factors to consider when staging your home when selling are your budget, number of rooms to stage, and how long to keep the staged setup. Since home staging costs about $600 per room when using professional services, you may want to only stage the rooms that are most important to potential buyers, including the kitchen, living room, and primary bedroom. You should also consider which repairs or updates are necessary before staging your home, such as painting interior walls, carpet cleaning, and refinishing hardwood floors.

Fresh baseboards can increase a home’s value because they refresh the look of your walls. This can make a good impression on buyers and potentially boost your home’s resale value. This is particularly helpful if your existing baseboards are in bad shape, which can age the look of your walls.

Consider also investing in the cost to install shoe molding for an extra-polished look that can further boost resale value.

While LVP won’t increase home value as much as engineered hardwood, it can increase the value somewhat because it creates a warm and inviting aesthetic. It’s also durable and waterproof, so it can be appealing to homebuyers with pets and children. LVP is very low-maintenance, so that can also appeal to homebuyers who don’t want to spend a lot of time keeping up with an engineered or solid hardwood floor.

You'll likely need more than great home staging to sell your home. Now is a great time to get to work on the curb appeal of your home . Hire local exterior painters and landscapers to coat the exterior of your home and bring it new life with some sprucing up.
