They framed over 400 homes in both Lafayette and Indianapolis areas, and worked on many multi - family housing projects. They served as project managers for over 66 multi - family units.\n\nIn addition, Gick Builders has done work on several commercial jobs such as BoJangles and Harrigan's Restaurants, the Lafayette Shrine Club and Paw Prints, Franks Nursery in Lafayette. In 1987, Bob and Mike began building their own custom homes. To date, they have completed 60 custom homes ranging in price from $75,000 to $500,000.\n\nWe believe that the craftsmanship that goes into your new home should be performed as if we were the ones making the mortgage payments. If the quality measures up to what we would expect in our homes, you can be sure that it will measure up for you as well. \n\nTo ensure that we complete our mission and achieve the best quality possible, Mike and / or Bob are always on the job, from start to finish. Bob and Mike have total control over the finished quality of their homes because they do all of the excavating, framing, siding, trim, wiring, painting, septics, concrete prep.\n\n\n\n\n

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

To get in the festive mood, you might turn to hanging holiday lights yourself. In many circumstances, DIY Christmas light installation can be cost-effective, not to mention fun. However, it’s best to consider any limitations to this task and how that might affect your overall project, like tall roofs. Consider hiring a Christmas light installer to place lights or decorations in hard-to-reach areas like roof peaks to avoid the risk of injury.

Christmas light cords are long, thin, and flexible—which makes them exceptionally prone to tangling. As you try to untangle the very merry mess, the light bulbs and sockets may catch on the cords, making it even harder to pull cords through the knots.

No, you shouldn’t insert an LED light into an incandescent socket. It usually won’t fit anyway, but in the unlikely chance that it does, its electrical demands are too different for it to work properly.

First of all, don’t shop for bargain lights—often, you’ll end up with a faulty or broken strand, full of dead bulbs or less-than-luminous brightness. Choose quality lights that will last you many years—LED lights have been known to last as long as 100,000 hours. Second, plan ahead and purchase lights for next year’s Christmas during this year’s post-holiday sales. Finally, have a vision and a plan—if you know the measurements of your home, including any windows, doors, and outside bushes you wish to light up, you should be able to only purchase the necessary lights and not more than you need.

To hang Christmas lights on a ceiling without using nails or traditional hooks, you have several damage-free options. Adhesive hooks and clips are a popular choice. For smaller projects, you can use pushpins, tacks, or adhesive putty. Specially designed transparent tape that can hold weight without damaging paint is also effective. For a more creative approach, consider stringing the lights over a curtain rod near the ceiling. If you have a drop ceiling, look for clips and hooks designed to attach to the metal framing. Note that staples can also be used, but may leave small holes.
