Customers say: Quick response

"I needed drywall repair and a bathroom painted. After checking around, I found the pricing was extremely pleasant for the project. I am extremely pleased with the work that was done, and the time it took to complete the project. The team arrived on time as scheduled and completed the project timely. They were very courteous and friendly. After the completion of the project, we spoke on additional projects to be worked on. They have multiple payment options as well. I would recommend K-C Drywall and Painting for all household drywall and painting needs. I would definitely hire them again."

I’m a hardworking person who doesn’t like to leave projects half finished or looking sloppy, I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I’ve always fixed and built almost everything I needed myself and I take pride in being self sufficient. I’ve been an electrician for a year and half now and before that I was fabricating aerators for private residences. I have a wife and two children, so I can handle the chaos of a whole house remodel even if you decide to alter any details halfway through.

"It went great! He was very professional in his work and in his whole performance. He was very articulat and neat with his work. He was careful to make sure that everything was coverd and protected. we were acctually gone on vacation while he did the work. But,we were told when we returned that he worked very hard and was very careful. I was concerned at first with allowing Brad full access to our home with no one there. My aunt came by a couple of times to check on his work and called to tell us that he was doing great and that there was nothing to fear.  As it has turned out Brad is a very honest individual and very trustworthy. We will be using him in the future for all of our painting needs. It is a real comfort in knowing that there are still people out there that you can trust and that truly do great work.

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Fixing ceiling nail pops involves similar steps to wall repair, with the major difference being the orientation of the work. Ceiling nail pops can be more challenging because you may need to work overhead, which can be physically demanding and require additional safety precautions. Additionally, the ceiling may have different materials or finishes, such as textured surfaces, which can affect the repair process. Otherwise, the fundamental steps are the same.

You should stagger drywall sheets to help prevent cracking. The joints between drywall sheets are the weak spots, so if you install drywall with seams aligned, you’ll create weak lines that run across the length of the wall and extend from floor to ceiling. But when you stagger drywall, the solid sections of panels will support the joints. This can prevent seams from cracking or separating due to fluctuating temperature and humidity, vibrations from movement inside the home, and gravity.

In some minor cases, you can DIY drywall repair with minimal time and money spent. This method is best when you have a hole made by a singular problem, such as accidental furniture moving, and not a continuous problem, like a rodent infestation.

Knowing what product to use is crucial. For example, small holes only need spackle, whereas large holes might need a new piece of drywall. You can flex your DIY abilities on this project, but if you’d like a second opinion or have a more significant problem, it’s best to call in a drywall repair pro.

If you suspect black mold is inside your walls, do not punch a hole in the drywall yourself to look. Call a mold inspection expert to help you. Some signs of a potential black mold infestation inside the wall include an unexplained musty, damp smell. Some people liken it to rotting vegetables. You may smell it most strongly through a wall outlet. If you and your family are experiencing constant coughing or symptoms that feel like an unexplained allergy, it could indicate black mold behind a wall.

The tool you use to sand plaster will depend on the size of the project. If you’re just working on a small section of your wall to get rid of an uneven spot on the surface, hand-sanding might work. However, for larger projects, a drywall sander can make a huge difference when it comes to both time and elbow grease—and an orbital sander can help for detailed areas such as around ceiling fans.
