Uniquely our last name is Masoner, masonry has been in our family for generations. We normally would not use sub-contractors unless the job included a multitude of work where extra help may be needed in most cases no job is too big. Masoner and sons consists of a total of 5 employees, we are a family owned and operated business. Our rates are based on a competitive hourly rate for labor, materials are separate, in the cost of materials any trip charges to pick up supplies as well as required building permits will be added into the cost of materials. If our company and the prospective customer is in agreement on potientialy hiring Masoner and sons for their masonry or design needs a proposal is drawn up that is signed by the customer as well as our company that protects both our company and the the customer. There can be a fee for an estimate for large jobs and or a trip charge for out of a 25 mile radius. If our services are initiated the fee will be deducted off of the grand total. For small estimates there is no charge.(unless out of traveling radius). Award winning.

80 +/- employees. Cost is determined by the job. Sub-contractors used on select projects. Earl and Dorothy Knapp started Sundown Gardens in 1949 by specializing in growing peonies and perennials for retail sales. They grew and cultivated plant material as cut flowers for purchase. In 1966, Stevan Knapp, Earl and Dorothy’s only child, started the landscape division. To complete the full-service lawn and garden package, Sundown Gardens offered a landscape maintenance service in 1993. The service provides landscaping, hardscape and lawn services. To this day, the service customizes groundskeeping plans for client properties primarily throughout Indianapolis and surrounding areas, including but not limited to: Zionsville, Carmel, Westfield, Fishers and Geist. In 1995, Dorothy and Stevan retired and a few long-standing employees took leadership of the company. The current owners, along with a dedicated team of knowledgeable and skilled experts, continue the Sundown Gardens tradition of expert knowledge coupled with quality installation and top-tier customer service. In January 2016 Sundown Gardens moved to its new location at: 505 West 186th Street, Westfield, IN 46074, at the corner of Springmill Road and 186th Street. OFFICE HOURS: MONDAY-FRIDAY 9-5 OR BY APPOINTMENT. RETAIL CENTER HOURS: VARY DEPENDING ON SEASON PLEASE CALL FOR CURRENT RETAIL CENTER HOURS (317)846-0620.

"Nate and Phil were knowledgeable and helpful in helping us select Norway Spruce and Red Pointe Maples for our landscaping. Clayton and Tomas were excellent on the installation, ensuring everything met our expectation and satisfaction. They took care not to damage anything, and explained what they were doing and why. We will not hesitate to use them again."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The best landscape edging tool depends on you and your needs. For homeowners who are looking for a budget-friendly edging material, plastic might be the best option for them. However, homeowners who want a low-maintenance option might opt for concrete or brick. Since there are loads of gardening edging ideas, decide what factors (maintenance, style, or budget) are most important to you to help you narrow your choices.

Environmental considerations include native plant selection, wildlife habitation, erosion prevention measures, and managing water runoff patterns to protect the lakefront ecosystem.

There are many benefits to raised garden beds. It’s easier to control weeds and enrich the soil. The truth is, most top soil isn’t suitable for growing veggies, and you’ll need to make adjustments. It’s easier to adjust a controlled space than a large area.

As much as you might try to keep a healthy, nutrient-rich lawn, you still may notice signs of St. Augustine decline (SAD)—a viral disease that discolors your grass blades. St. Augustine decline looks like:

  • Discoloration in the leaves (chlorosis)—leaves appear yellow and splotchy

  • Decline in growth

  • Leaves turn black within 3 years

  • Grass appears less vibrant

  • Grass begins to thin

  • Root rot

  • Grass takes longer to recover

Moss attaches to the ground but doesn’t have roots, so it can take four to six weeks for establishment to begin. It takes between 12 and 18 months for full coverage, and maximum thickness takes about two years. Keep your moss moist and debris-free to ensure it establishes itself well.
