"The 2 guys that put up my fence were hard working. It was hot the day they did my fence but they never stopped until the job was completed. They also made sure that I was satisfied with their work."

"They were fantastic!! I was nervous with such a big job (whole house remodel) that it maybe too much for them. However they showed me wrong. Showing up on time everyday and working hard was a big thing for me as I buy houses and flip them. I could definitely tell that working hard for their customers is definitely their line of work. They go out of their way to do the best for their customer and they made sure we were satisfied before leaving our house. We will definitely be using Heartland Construction again here in the future if we need anything else done. Great guys too down to earth so if you’re looking for quality work, well look no further as these are your guys. A 10/10 for sure!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Issues include rust, loose posts, and damaged mesh. Regular maintenance prevents significant problems.

Do you need a permit to build a fence if you are simply replacing an existing fence? Whether you need a permit in this case depends on your local laws and regulations. Most municipalities consider a fence replacement project as being equal to building a new fence, so you likely will need a permit. Check with your local building inspection department or zoning department to see if you need a permit. If you hire a local fence contractor, this pro can take care of obtaining all permits for you.

The best under-gate dog barrier is one that extends to the ground. This effectively keeps dogs in and won't give them room to squeeze through. However, dogs that dig can still get under the barrier. Deter digging by paving the ground beneath the gate or filling it in with rocks or gravel. Be careful using wire to extend dog gates, as the sharp ends may cut or hurt your dog's paws.

The most common type of metal fence today is one made of either steel or aluminum. These materials are relatively easy to fabricate, making them much more cost-effective than traditional metal fencing handmade from wrought iron. They’re also much lighter and easier to install, contributing to their affordability and making them more DIY-friendly.

Wrought iron is durable, secure, and adds an elegant aesthetic to its properties.
