The price difference between a 10-yard and a 15-yard dumpster is anywhere from $15 to $200 per week. A 10-yard dumpster rental costs about $225 to $450 per week and a 15-yard dumpster costs about $240 to $650 per week. A 10-yard dumpster is suitable for medium-sized cleanup or small renovation projects like kitchen cabinets or small bathrooms. The 15-yard dumpster can handle projects like small porch or patio demolition, small bathroom or kitchen remodels, or about 1,500 square feet of shingles removed for a roofing project.

Sometimes you may be able to leave the bags with your regular trash. However, that’s not always the case. Call your local waste management prior to starting the removal and ask about the proper ways to recycle or dispose of removed insulation. In many cases, your town or municipality has a designated dumpster for building waste.

Choosing a junk disposal method begins with considering what kind of junk you’re getting rid of. If it’s hazardous waste, you’ll be more limited in your options and will either need to haul it to a dedicated disposal facility yourself or find a junk removal company that works with hazardous materials. If it’s general waste and mostly consists of small items, renting a dumpster is a great way to save money if you and some friends can move the junk into the dumpster yourselves. To save time and energy, though, hiring a junk hauler is the best option.

The amount a 6-by-10-foot dump trailer can hold varies depending on the model. Generally, however, they can hold at least 4 cubic yards of waste with a load capacity of at least 4,000 lbs. This is around 1/4 to 1/2 the amount a standard junk removal truck can hold. It’s also considerably less than the most common dumpster size of 20 cubic yards.
