"My furnace went out on Saturday night. I decided to wait until Monday to call instead of paying overtime costs. I can't imagine how much that would cost. The technician found a bad ignitor, which I know costs $30-70. Average price for this service is about $250. He was at my house for less than 40 minutes.............over $400 !!!!!"

VJF Contracting is your one stop shop for all of your electrical projects! Offering services like: house rewiring, electrical panels, underground wiring, whole house generators, lighting, and Much more! VJF Contracting is a residential and commercial company! No job to big or small!

"In my opinion, my electrical rewire experience with Vince Funk was negative. The project took over three weeks for a small 900 sq. ft. home. The owner kept avoiding text and emails. The job involved half days, no-shows, and poor communication. I was left with exposed wiring, skipped or non-working outlets, unnecessary drywall holes, damage to hardwood floors, carpet, and brand new appliances, and a blown kitchen breaker the night the job was said to be finished. Mid-project, I was pressured to pay additional money by the owner and received a text saying the job would be abandoned if I didn?t pay the same day. I paid in full plus extra, but the work still felt incomplete and subpar. The electrician seemed rushed by the owner Funk. I am a senior citizen and found this experience extremely stressful. This review reflects my personal experience and opinion."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Depth is not a qualifying component of evacuation. Any human-made cut, cavity, or depression in the earth’s surface is considered excavation. The hole from excavation can be any size, shape, or depth. Excavation is used to create foundations, reservoirs, drainage ditches, and roads. Long, narrow excavations are called trenches and are often used for underground utilities.

Most residential basements are 8 to 10 feet deep. You can dig deeper depending on building codes, but it does become more difficult. You’ll likely need to install stronger foundation walls and additional supports to handle the increased load. Depending on the water table, you may also need a water management system. Clay soil can support a deeper foundation than sandy soil. A structural engineer will be able to tell you the maximum, feasible depth.

The easier way to find buried sprinkler lines is to use the plan from the professionals who installed the system. If you don’t have professional plans, listen for running water on your lawn when you turn on the system. You may also spot wet areas, giving you an idea of where the heads are. Once you find the sprinkler heads, you’ll likely be able to connect the dots between them, revealing the system below.

Skunk digging looks like a series of small, cone-shaped holes on a lawn or around the perimeter of a home, porch, deck, or shed. The holes that skunks dig when searching for grubs tend to be no more than four inches in diameter and may be up to four inches deep.

No, a ditch isn’t a trench. A ditch is an open, relatively shallow channel that’s carved out of the ground and used for drainage purposes. In contrast, a trench is a deeper excavation that’s entirely underground. Trenches have many uses, including gas lines, sewage systems, and electrical wiring. Unlike trenches, ditches don’t get filled back in with dirt after they’re dug.
