Matt and his worker Bert came in, gave us a quote that we felt was very reasonable. They started work the next morning in within 3 days they had hung, taped and bedded and sanded and finished. Great job done in small amount of time by two very professional and knowledgeable gentlemen.

The job took two days for an individual to complete. He removed and replaced the plaster in one day and then came back on a second day to sand down the plaster and clean up. The work was excellent. Our window wells have curved walls (instead of 90-degree angles) and he did an excellent job of matching the curvature when repairing the plaster. He was quick, tidy, and very professional throughout the process

Their estimate was not the cheapest I got, but a friend who is a retired contractor looked at all the estimates I had and said this one was the most thorough and that he thought the price was in line - that he probably couldn't do it any cheaper and I would invariably end up with some unpleasant surprises from the cheaper ones. Mr Denny was a bit slow in getting started, but it was largely due to trying to juggle projects already started with the excessive rain we were having. I had given him an absolute finish deadline and he had the job completed on time. He gave me all the possible options of how to do each of the three main parts of the jobs and gave me exactly what I asked for - even including a lot of extra work I know he did installing a special antique door I wanted to use between the kitchen and sun porch that didn't fit the opening and for which he practically had to move mountains to find hardware. I was especially impressed with his workers - they were POLITE, no foul language, never smoked where any smoke would get in the house, and when they did have a cigarette outside - THEY PICKED UP THE CIGARETTE BUTTS THEMSELVES!!!! It was obvious one of the workers was younger and less experienced and, as a teacher, I enjoyed observing how Mr. Denny supervised and taught him how to do every aspect of the work. They cleaned up the worksite at the end of each workday. Mr. Denny did a "walk-through" with me to double check that I was satisfied with everything when they were finished. Their workmanship was very good - especially considering they were faced with the challenges of tying new into existing materials. I probably should have borrowed the money to go ahead and replace all the sun porch windows at the same time - that's what he recommended,- but I was determined to stay in my cash budget. He purposely built the wall below the windows in such a way that when I'm ready to replace them, the work will tie in with minimal extra demolition required. I will certainly call him again for any remodeling work I need done

The workers from Creasey Plastering Company did a great job. They were very thorough. The living room especially is a huge room so it was not an easy job. They seemed to be interested in making sure that they understood and satisfied their customers. They regularly checked in with me to ensure that it looked the way I hoped it would. They put down the crown molding until I got the room painted and then came back and installed it up on the ceiling. The products they used were excellent. They were very easy to work with. Their price was reasonable considering the amount of work they did in my huge living room and dining room. I wished that they were cheaper but at the same time they knew what they were doing. They were the only ones in the area that did this kind of work. I would use them again in the future if required

Scotts Construction

DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN! We initially hired Scott after he responded to an on line local group. He was kind, sincere and met my husband at our home to review contract. His prices were 1/3 of the competitors. The Job was for electrical work in our new home was over 8,000. He seamed eager to be of assistance. Though he we hired him for odd jobs at our existing home while our new house was being built by the Amish, he was usually late and seemed plagued with excuses of health issues or family trouble that kept him from completing a project in a timely manner. But in the end, he came through with those small jobs. When the new house was ready for electrical work back in mid June, he was at the house daily. He had a small crew of teenage sons and a friend at times. Work was slow but he plugged along. We liked his sincerity, his down to earth spirit, so we hired him for the plumbing job as well. He continued to be attentive and aimed to please us, though work was slow. We then hired him for other jobs in the home that he said he could easily get done. From approx June to Aug,, Scott was down here approx 5 days a week. He had a couple health episode, a son's legal problem, a stalled vehicle of his and his son that kept him from coming to property at times but we were very understanding. It just gets worse from here. Many projects, were poorly done. Scott failed to cap off simple T drains and many of our household items, including family heirlooms , we were storing in the basement of the new home were covered in grey water from the toilet. Although we cleaned them some heirlooms, others had to be trashed. He was slow to fix the problem and we had further leaks from his plumbing job. He bought our AC /heat pump and furnace from a scratch and dent dealer in Lebanon with no warranty. Unbeknownst to us. He asked for money for duct work, that we provided to him and never got it. He would ask for money to purchase materials and never produce the items. He seemed to have a of days where he had to show up for child support court. and sometime at the end of August, he claimed his bank account was frozen by the courts and he was unable to produce items we had already paid him to purchase. He then began not answering calls, not showing up, It became a daily game of asking him if he was coming, him telling us that he would be there at a certain time and never showing. In the last 3 weeks we have seen him at the house approx 5 times. And he stayed for approx 1 -2 hours. The last straw was after 4 days of not answering calls and not showing up, he showed up an hour late, and as soon as I had left to run and errand, he left right behind me, not to answer the phone at all. We offered to help him in gas money to get down to Rockville from New Richmond, pay extra adult crew members just to get the house moving His reponse was always that he was going thru a hardship and we are his first priority. And that he WAS going to get us done. His last message to me was a cryptic complaint that he didn't like it that we doubted his abilities after pointing out some serious concerns in his work. The current state of our house? We have no duct work, we have 20% of electrical not done. A bathroom not done, Insulation gaps in the ceiling, railing that has been purchased but not done. a furnace and AC unit with no warrantly and it is coming into late September. We fronted him on painting, flooring and setting up kitchen. This is only started and a long way to go to be done. We are out over 30 K in monies. We finally fired him yesterday after being here for one hour and never calling us back to speak with us personally. We have asked for some monies back. And have contacted a lawyer for litigation. Don't be fooled by his kindness or sincerity. He is a charlatan and is plagued with unfortunate events in his life that prohibit him from actually finishing his job. I believe this is his M. O. and needs to be shut down

Jack disappeared after giving me the estimate and doesn't return phone calls. I called and he actually hung up on us. He won't talk to us. He had spent hours over at my place in giving the estimate. We even met him at Lowe's for the kitchen articles such as cabinets and countertops but now he won't return our phone calls. I have got money sitting in the bank and am waiting to get my house done but he just disappears. It is quite frustrating. He had told me that he would come out in a couple of days when I first called him but he didn't. I called him again and he came out the next day and I showed him the outside work that I needed done so that we could do the painting. We had used his services one time before and he had done pretty good work. He had done everything that he said he would and at the price agreed on. We were happy with everything he did then. I am ready to get $35000-45000 worth of work done and nobody will call us back. I paid money to use the services of Angie's List and called people listed there and they don't call us back. I would tell people that he is not reliable. I think that he picks the jobs that he wants to do and he didn't want to do the work outside the house

This whole experience was nothing short of a nightmare!! Jack is a smooth talker and will tell you what you want to hear and always has a good lie handy. He makes a habit of at least trying to hook up with the lady of the house. We are out money and nine months of our lives. The bad part is as time goes on more problems are popping up, I guess we'll just have to see what happens. If anybody would like to contact me and discuss the work I will tell you anything you want to know. We do not recommend Honey Creek Contracting!!!!!!

"Excellent. We had to wait a while for them to work us into their schedule but once scheduled, they were on time and worked hard each day to get the job finished in a timely manner. They were very professional and the work was top quality. They never left a mess and made my life a lot easier by moving a covering furniture. I would definitely recommend them to others and plan to use them in the future.
"They came out, gave me a quote, and started painting two days later (timing as per my request). Two guys did everything in less than two days. There was a minor communication breakdown that resulted in one area being missed, but I told Larry and he sent his guys out the next morning to complete the job. One of the guys also did some drywall patching to cover a bad spot in the wall left by the previous homeowners. It was pretty rough, but Larry told me his guy could smooth it right out, making it look good as new. It looks better now, but still not good. That part of the wall basically needs to be ripped out and replaced, so I understand the inability to make it perfect, but Larry maybe over-committed a little on how much they were going to be able to improve the looks.
<br /> Overall, the quoted price was the final price, and the job quality was good, so I and my wife were quite happy with the job and how quickly they were able to get it done. We would definitely use them again.
