"Customer Service was great. They called to set up the appointment for the install when they said they would. The installation was completed within the timeframe I was given when I signed the contract. Thanks Sue and Chuck! The crew led by Chris was amazing. Replaced an old wooden fence with a new wrought iron aluminum in 1 day. The clean up was fantastic - the yard was in great shape when they were done. Chris did a walk-around with me and it looks great!! I am very impressed with the workmanship. Everyone involved at Peerless / IFFT Quality Fence was professional and it was a pleasure doing business with them all. Chris and his team went above and beyond by removing a large limb that was lost during one of our recent storms. That was a HUGE help and is very much appreciated."

"They are a small-time business and were not very impressive when they showed up to do the work. A limited-experience worker was left to do the staining of my deck. However, the work was acceptable, and some carelessness in painting was quickly cleaned up. Josh was willing to do whatever was needed to gain acceptance of the job."

"We have hired this company two different times now. Last year we had him replace a gate that was broken and then just over the last 2 days he came and took down our vinyl picket fence and replaced it white vinyl privacy. It looks so nice. He shows up when he says he will be here and does outstanding work and has great prices. I highly recommend him!!!!"

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

The most common height of a front yard fence is around 3 feet high, but it can vary depending on your zoning laws. If your fence is meant to create privacy, something closer to 6 feet or higher will do the trick. Most of the time, the highest fence you’ll see is 8 feet tall.

One common approach to attaching lattice is using screws or nails. Align the lattice panel with the wood frame, then secure it by driving screws or nails through the lattice into the wood. Another option is using U-shaped or J-shaped clips or brackets designed for lattice attachment, which provide a neater look. For added stability and aesthetics, you can use molding or framing around the lattice edges, attaching it to the wood with screws or nails—lastly, construction adhesive works when combined with other fasteners for enhanced durability.

Generally, the height of your dog fence should be 3 times the distance from the ground to your dog’s shoulder. For most small breeds, a 4-foot high fence will be more than enough to keep them from jumping out. Medium-sized breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds will need at least a 5-6 foot fence to stay contained. Large breeds that are also excellent jumpers, such as Greyhounds, may need a 7-foot high fence.

Vinyl and chicken wire are two of the best and most affordable materials for a DIY garden fence. Vinyl is a great option because it is cost-effective, easy to work with, and effective at keeping pests out. A vinyl fence can cost as little as $15 per linear foot, especially if you install it yourself. Chicken wire is even more budget-friendly, costing as little as $2 per linear foot. While chicken wire is more affordable, vinyl is a better choice if privacy is a concern. You can also add chicken wire on top of a vinyl fence for extra security.

The average cost to install a wrought iron fence is around $3,150, with typical project costs ranging from $470 to $10,500. The final price can vary significantly based on several factors, including the fence's total length and height, design complexity, metal thickness, and your property's topography.

For materials alone, you can expect to pay around $25 to $35 per linear foot. When including installation, the cost is typically between $50 and $70 per linear foot.

Additional factors that can influence the total cost include:

  • Custom designs, decorative flourishes, gates, and columns

  • Labor costs in your area

  • The need for permits

  • Land preparation, such as old fence removal, tree or bush clearing, and land grading

For an accurate estimate, it is best to consult a professional fence installer with the specific measurements and design requirements for your project.
