"Mike and his guys poured a 24x30 foundation for a metal building I was installing. They did a great job. I told Mike my daughter had a graduation party 3 day later. They did an excellent job cleaning my yard up when they were done. One month later I had them pour a driveway and a sidewalk. They turned out great as well"

"I recently had the pleasure of having Mark do some work for me installing several household appliances, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From start to finish, he demonstrated professionalism, skill, and attention to detail. Mark arrived on time and came fully prepared with all the necessary tools. He took the time to explain each step of the process, ensuring I was comfortable and informed. The installations were completed quickly and efficiently, and he even went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfectly aligned and functioning properly. I highly recommend Mark for any handyman needs. I’ll definitely be reaching out for future projects!"

"At first I received two quotes, 1 from Aspen Fence and 1 from Golden Fence. In hind site I should have used Golden Fence. (sorry Golden Fence)
I picked Aspen Fence because their proposal looked to be more professional, so I justified the extra $250 that they were because of that.
The problem was that I had two gates on the project and Golden Fence included 4x6 posts on BOTH gates and Aspen didn't include any  larger posts on either gate. I spoke with Jeff at Aspen and he wanted to charge me extra for adding the larger posts and I had to twist his arm to up-size the posts at ONE gate for no extra charge.
Then Jeff called me 12 hours before his guys were going to show up and asked me if I got the permit when I was under the impression he was getting the permit so I had to pay extra for that and I had to pull favor with the village to expidite it thru the system.
Then when the guys showed up the asked my wife "where do you want us to put the dirt from the holes". WHAT??? Since when does a contractor give you a price to make holes and a mess and ask you where to put the spoils? I've been in construction and construction project management for 30+ years, I've NEVER had a contractor ask me where to put the trash and spoils they generate. You make it you take it! So I called Jeff to ask him his thought on that and he said "well we never take the dirt away, we usually spread it around the property where the customer wants it". He told me he would charge me extra to take the dirt away ($7/hole) and I had something like 22 holes so he wanted to charge me another $150 to take his trash away.
I informed him he should've spelled that out on his quote and he said I was the first to have a problem with it.
Needless to say I wasn't blown away with the whole "Aspen experience" and I would caution anyone considering using them. If you're getting a bid from them NAIL THEM DOWN IN WRITING about EVERYTHING!!!! Time, duration, drawings, details, permits, spoils, layout........
The workmanship was fine and they did come back out to fix some things free of charge but I just wanted to share my experience.
Good luck and God bless to you all.

"I just moved from Florida with my family and bought a house that needed a lot of things done because it was a foreclosed house. George and his crew are great to work with because they took care of all the items I had on my list and more.  It was an easy transition for us because we choose the right contractor. They came everyday and so much was accomplished so quickly with quality work. I have recommended them to my new neighbor and now they are doing some work for them!!  This is a true remodeling company!"

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

When choosing a driveway gate, consider the fence material, whether you want an automatic gate or a manual one, and property limitations like the slope of your driveway. We recommend speaking with a professional driveway gate installer to see what types of gates will work on your property based on your fencing or home’s exterior. Keep in mind that driveway gates should range between 10 to 12 feet wide to ensure cars can easily maneuver through the gateway.

A Trex gate costs $750 plus another $200 for the hardware pack necessary for installation. By contrast, Trex fencing ranges in price from $22 to $38 per linear foot, so you may pay a lot or a little depending on just how much space you need to enclose in your yard.

Thieves can open almost anything with enough time and the right tools, but they also prefer easy targets that are unlikely to get them caught. Forcing open gates is loud and difficult, and to be able to open one electronically requires extensive knowledge of the system, which most thieves don't have. Electric and other security gates are great deterrents because the thief will move to an easier target. If the thief is determined to enter your property, they will most likely find a different entrance point.

Your gate should be 3/4 to an inch smaller than the opening. The opening size that you need for your gate can vary depending on your hinge type. You may also need to add reinforcing braces if the gap between your gate and the fence is not uniform from top to bottom.

Yes, clean regularly, lubricate hinges or tracks, and inspect for damage to ensure smooth operation.
