"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

A hurricane can take down a house, but most well-built modern homes can withstand an average hurricane. Houses are more likely to fail during strong hurricanes and if they’re older, poorly built, or already have structural problems. Strong winds can blow off weak points like the roof and windows, giving the hurricane winds an opening to do more damage. Walls may also collapse under the force of high winds and pressure.

Hail damage on a tile roof looks like chips, cracks, and dents. Some roof tiles may break off entirely in harsh hailstorms. Hail can cause tile shingles to shift and loosen, leading to less protection from water and the elements. Loose tiles can also pose a safety risk to people, pets, and property below.

In general, hailstones need to be at least one inch in diameter to cause damage to a roof. Smaller hailstones can also cause damage, but usually only if accompanied by strong winds or striking aging roofs in poor condition. Obviously, the larger the hail, the more potential for damage.

If a window breaks during a hurricane, the first thing to do is get away from it, shut the door to the room, and move to a different part of your home. Ideally, you should wait out the storm in a room that doesn’t have any windows. Afterward, safely throw out the broken glass while wearing gloves and call a window replacement professional to discuss your options.

You’ll be in the best position to negotiate a hail damage claim if you thoroughly document the damage the hail caused to your property, file a claim immediately, and seek legal advice. It’s a good idea to keep images of your non-damaged property; that way, you have something to compare the damage to.
