"If you are considering epoxy for your floors anywhere in your home, contact Central Illinois Epoxy! Their choices of color and texture are quite different and more than standard fleck Iâ ve been offered elsewhere. I chose deep, tonal colors for interior floors of a breezeway and garage turned climate controlled gym. I could not have been more pleased. Not only were the floors GORGEOUS, they also showed up when they said they would, completed the job in the time they estimated (*barring one unanticipated variable!), provided exceptional customer service and were willing to problem solve for the unexpected. *we live in the country. Due to the mild winter, a large number of houseflies decided they liked the look of the new epoxy on the garage/gym floor! Central IL Epoxy made sure the job met our expectations despite the uninvited guests. They go above and beyond. I would choose them again for any project."

"David gave me what I thought was a fair price for the work to be done. He asked for 1/2 up front. As a previous small business owner I did not feel this was unreasonable so I paid him 500.00. He estimated the work would take 3 to four days and I thought the same. After several no shows the "mason" showed up. The first clue was he came in a car. According to my wife he was here 2 hours and left, came back for another 2 hours the next day and left again. He said nothing to my wife about leaving or when he would be back. David called a day later to ask about coming out to look over the job and get the rest of the other 500.00. I said he isn't finished and he's only been here 4 hours. So then I looked up the prevailing wage in IL for a mason and found out it is 28.50 an hour. The next day the guy comes back for another 3 hours. David came to look at the work and I walked him around and showed him all of the places that had not been done. So the guy comes back again for about an hour. All told it was 8 hours work, nothing to write home about but it was agreed up front that I wasn't looking for an exposed brick look. I need it tuck pointed well enough so that I could drylock and paint the exposed brick. I will say this was done in the end. The worker left a mess that I and my wife had to clean up, I pointed this out to David as well. I told him I felt he was overly paid for the amount of work preformed and that was the end of it. It's really to bad. It's difficult to get contractors to do small jobs and I had plenty for him to do. I'm not unhappy, just would not hire again"

"The Mike Wheeler team just finished painting the entire interior of my house and I couldn't be more pleased. The guys that were here not only did a great job painting, but were also professional, careful (I had new flooring on main level), and cleaned up well each day before leaving. They paid attention to details that I probably wouldn't have noticed if they didn't do, but so appreciated that they took care of. I'm already considering having them update my cabinets w paint or stain, and paint exterior shutters. Highly recommend them. BTW, the other estimate I received was higher and I can't imagine them doing any better of a job."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Most concrete sealers take about one to three hours to dry. However, those that penetrate may take up to 48 hours or more to completely dry. You can find specific drying details from the manufacturer on the label.

You can seal a concrete slab by cleaning the surface, filling in any cracks, etching the surface, applying a sealer, and letting it dry. Concrete slabs don't typically need sealing, but you can use a topical concrete sealer if you notice signs of water damage. If you haven't already fixed the cause of the leak, then you'll want to repair the plumbing before you seal a concrete slab.

Not every type of flooring is well suited to a wood stove. However, ceramic or stone tiles are good choices since they are durable, heat-resistant, and easy to clean. Softer flooring options, like carpet, could be damaged by the heat produced by a wood stove—or even create a fire hazard.

Concrete sealers will help your garage floors resist water, but they will not make the floor waterproof. You will need to purchase a specific waterproof floor paint for concrete and apply several coats over several days if you want your garage floor to be truly impermeable. While the process is similar to sealing the floors, the materials are different, and the need for multiple coats will extend the process and drying time.

No. You cannot use asphalt products on concrete driveways. To seal a concrete driveway, use acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane, silane, siloxane, and silicate sealers or deep penetration sealers made specifically for concrete. Meanwhile, asphalt sealers contain refined coal tar (asphalt emulsion), water, sand, clay, polymers, and additives and are incompatible with concrete’s surface texture and higher density.
