Look no further for a high-quality, long lasting finish. Sure anyone can slap a coat of paint on your project, but that’s generally not the best solution. (And often costs more in the long run) We specialize in both interior or exterior, cabinetry and deck painting. With customer satisfaction as our priority, plus a guarantee on all our work you can rest assured it will be done right.

I am a Journeyman Union Carpenter by trade but after 15 years left it to pursue other things. I have had rental properties and done hundreds of property rehabs and remodels over the years. I have a working knowledge of plumbing and electrical and I take pride in my work. I also rehab and refinish antique wood furniture and build custom furniture out of old wood and recycled materials. No job is too small and I enjoy meeting all the people that this kind of work leads me too.

Painting questions, answered by experts

No—if you complete a full coat of paint, including painting techniques like cutting in and rolling, you could wait weeks or months between coats if you wanted. For best results, sand the first coat and clean the wall before applying the second.

Using a roller allows you to apply a mist coat quickly to avoid uneven spots while drying, but it can create streaks and splatters from the watery paint. Applying with a paintbrush can take longer but may be less messy. There are pros and cons to using either a roller or a brush for the mist coat. The mist coat is diluted, so it can be messier to work with, but it also dries quickly.

While the answer varies based on weather, 10 a.m. is a good time to start painting. The dew will have dried, meaning there’s no moisture on the house, and the temperature will likely be moderate and the sunlight less direct. Starting mid-morning should also give you enough daylight and pleasant weather to work on the job for several hours.

It’s a good idea to sand your porch before painting. This will remove loose or chipped paint and debris, and give you a cleaner surface so that your new paint goes on smoothly. But if the existing surface is in good condition, it’s not necessary to sand your porch before you paint.

Absolutely. Natural light, incandescent bulbs, and LED lighting all impact how a color appears. For example, a cool gray under daylight might look slightly blue under warm interior lighting. That’s why it’s smart to check color matches at different times of day and under various lighting conditions. If a color match appears only slightly off, lighting may be the reason.
