"The main man I called on the phone was nice.  I told him I always cleaned carpets myself but was 9 months pregnant so didnt feel up to it, but needed it done asap due to a mishap with the dog.  He said they happened to have a gap in the schedule (yeah!).  I asked him what I should do to get ready - should I pick stuff up?  He said not to worry about it, the men coming could help pick some stuff up, especially since I was so pregnant.
The men came promptly when they said they would, however they watched me pick up stuff, they did not offer to help even as they saw me rushing around struggling to get things off the carpet in time.
I do have small rooms and I have never had my carpet professionally cleaned before, so maybe my expectations are at the wrong level, but they finished one room in less than 15 minutes.  The other rooms they breezed through too.  He said they ran the tool over the carpet twice, but it was moving pretty quickly.
End results are carpets that look a bit cleaner and the stink is mostly gone from.  But I am disappointed.  The carpet in all three rooms still looks dirty.  You can see several spots they did not hit (crunched leaves still sitting there), they were done so quickly.  I really feel like they did not take their time.  That if they had gone more slowly and spent some time on the spots, they would have come out.  When I shampoo the carpet, most of the dark spots come out.  The carpet they shampooed is still full of dark spots where my kids spilled stuff.
I am not happy that I am going to have to clean the carpet myself to actually get it clean.

"Dimitri did a very good job on our hallway. He managed to paint a very tight corner without getting any grey paint on our newly installed white trim. He has a very steady hand with the brush. The grey paint did bleed through the tape onto the baseboard trim in a couple locations but he made certain to repaint the trim and not just leave it up to us to fix. That was very professional of him.

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

An improper DIY roof cleaning could cause leaks by damaging the roofing material. Things like using too much water pressure on the shingles or applying a harsh cleaning solution could cause damage. If you do enough damage, you could harm the ability of the shingles or other roof materials to keep water out of your home.

No, you should not use a pressure washer or power washer on roof shingles, including asphalt shingles. The high water pressure is too strong and can damage the shingles by loosening their adhesive, forcing water underneath them, or causing them to fall off. The safer and better option is soft washing with a pump sprayer. For best results and to avoid damage, consider hiring a local roof cleaner to clean your shingles safely.

The best time of year for roof cleaning depends on your local climate, but generally, late spring, summer, or early autumn are ideal. Plan to clean your roof on a day with dry weather and moderate temperatures.

Late spring and early summer are excellent for cleaning off grime accumulated after a snowy winter or wet spring. Summer often provides the necessary dry conditions, though in very hot climates, late spring may be more comfortable. Alternatively, cleaning in late autumn can clear away debris like leaves and branches before winter.

Avoid cleaning your roof when it is cold enough for water to freeze, as this can cause dangerous ice buildup.

A green roof is a roof design that includes a thin layer of vegetation on the roof surface. It’s an environmentally friendly option. Some green roofs may look like they have moss or algae on them, causing neighbors to suggest that you clean the roof. However, you should never try to clean a green roof, as any cleaning methods you deploy will likely kill the vegetation.

Tile roofs, including clay, concrete, and slate, are considered low-maintenance materials that require fewer repairs and less care than many other roofing options.

  • Clay tiles require minimal maintenance. They stand up well to the elements and UV radiation, repel water, and do not easily stain, discolor, or fade in direct sunlight. Clay tiles do not need sealing. Maintenance is typically only required to replace cracked tiles, which can be caused by foot traffic, extreme weather, or fallen tree limbs.

  • Concrete tiles are also low-maintenance but require more upkeep than clay. They need to be sealed every few years to maintain water resistance, and their color tends to fade more quickly than clay.

Aside from these material-specific needs, general maintenance for tile roofs includes annual inspections, routine gutter cleaning, and addressing repairs as they arise. A well-maintained tile roof can provide 50 to 100 years or more of protection for your home.
