"This gentleman was AMAZING. In 5 minutes, he fixed the 2 problems the last electrician had caused. I wash I had called him first. He was here within 1 day, fixed all the outlets in my kitchen, that someone else screwed up!!! He added a GFI inside and one outside. I can't believe this guy. The price was way less than what I thought he was going to charge me. I cannot say enough good things about him. I will not let anyone else ever work on anything electric in my house again. Thank you TAZ I am so glad I looked on Angie and found you."

"He showed up in a timely manner. He did the job quickly. There was a shorted wire that he had to re-run and pull through the existing pipe. So far it's all working great and has not needed to return. So far everything working great."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

The cost for professional holiday light installation averages around $430, with a typical range of $220 to $675. However, prices can be as low as $100 for simple projector setups or exceed $1,200 for extensive displays. The total cost depends on factors like the display's complexity, your home's size, labor rates in your area, and the type of lights used. For example, installation on a small, one-story home may cost $250 to $600, while a multi-story home over 4,000 square feet could cost $500 to $1,800. Costs can also be broken down by location (e.g., high roofs at $3.50–$6 per linear foot) or by the type of light strand, with prices ranging from $4 for basic incandescent strands to over $60 for color-changing LED strands.

Yes, you must use an extension cord specifically rated for outdoor use to power outdoor lights, such as Christmas lights. Extension cords intended for indoor use lack the protective properties to withstand exposure to outdoor elements. To safely hang and power lights outside your house or in your yard, always connect them to an outdoor power source using an outdoor-rated extension cord.

If you don’t have a ladder, you may be able to use a light-hanging pole. If not, you’ll have to rent a bucket lift or other machinery to reach your roof.

Inspect for burnt-out bulbs, secure connections, and protect from water exposure to maintain functionality.

You should always hang the lights before the ornaments because hanging lights on top of ornaments can cause some to fall off. If a light sits directly on top of an ornament, it can cause it to heat up and possibly change its color or cause it to crack.
