"Hang and finish drywall Paint open ceiling in basement Paint walls Install drop ceiling. They did a great job for a fair price and on time. Great communication. Showed up when they said they would each and every time. Good job cleaning up as well. I would definitely hire them again or recommend to anyone."

"We are extremely happy with the job Raul and his team completed in our home. We had some awkward drywall holes in two rooms that needed significant drywall replacement, some patches, as well as priming and painting a large living room ceiling and priming and painting our half bath. They were prompt, easy to communicate with, courteous, and the price was very reasonable. I appreciate the high quality of their work as well as the speed in which they completed the job. We have had other contractors do similar work in our house before, and Raul's team was superior in every way. I would recommend them to others and would hire them again if I needed work done in my home."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

The timeline varies from a few hours to two days, depending on room size, texture complexity, and removal difficulty.

Because of the nature of the texture, it's common for the popcorn texture to loosen while painting. Popcorn ceilings are delicate, and using a heavy hand with a roller or applying overly wet paint can loosen the texture. To avoid a mess, handle the material gently with a roller or brush. It's also smart to test a small area first, and if the texture starts coming off, the ceiling may need repairs or sealing before painting.

It depends on the type of texture you’re adding but yes, you can often use a roller to texturize a ceiling. The roller needs to be able to hold enough medium to create some relief on the ceiling but not so much that gravity will pull it off before it dries. Using a roller with a nap between ½” and ¾” will allow the roller to hold enough material to do the trick.

When steaming falls short, consider utilizing a commercial texture remover tailored for popcorn ceiling removal. Adhere closely to the manufacturer's guidelines and conduct a preliminary test in an inconspicuous spot to verify compatibility with your ceiling. This specialized product offers an alternative solution for stubborn texture removal, potentially streamlining the process while safeguarding the integrity of your ceiling surface. Remember, products like these may be high-VOC, so wear protective gear.

On average, repairing a ceiling costs anywhere from $450 to $1,750. However, there are many variables that can impact the price of this project. For example, the type of ceiling material, type and extent of the damage, and local labor rates all affect your costs. Holes and cracks are less expensive to fix, while structural issues and water damage are pricier problems.
