"Fast and friendly service. Quick to reply, quick to come by for quote. Everything arranged was done completely on schedule. Even when I added a job to the total job. Good value. Hard to compare as each job is different and I added more work, but per the calculator it was a good deal for what I needed done. I am really happy with them and signed them for my weekly mowings as well."

"Nick from The Illuminator's came out and installed new outdoor lighting based on a discussion we'd had a month or so ago.  He mounted lights under the eaves of my house, up in a tree, along a path, and installed some uplighting to highlight some trees (some of these lights we'd had installed by The Illuminator's a few years ago).  The lights all look wonderful and Nick really hustled getting the new lights installed.  Customer service is very important to The illuminator's and they will go out of their way to make sure that everything is the way you want it - even if they have to come back and tweak the lights a little.

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Weeds may grow back when pulled out if the root is not completely removed. Invasive weeds can regrow from just a small portion of remaining root, so using a weed-pulling tool can help ensure you remove the entire root. Weeds may grow back faster if roots aren’t fully removed, and incomplete removal could cause them to spread as well.

Clover lawns stand up better against dog and cat urine than traditional turfgrass. If your pets love to hang out on the lawn on a sunny day—or if you find yourself with a lot of visiting neighborhood dogs—you could save yourself from yellow and brown patches by making the switch to a clover lawn.

Clover is a sustainable, low-maintenance alternative to turfgrass, allowing homeowners to put away the mower while enjoying a lush and consistent lawn. The plant also attracts pollinators, adds nitrogen to low-nutrient soil, and holds up in a range of climates. Consult a local lawn care professional to determine whether replacing your grass with clover is right for your yard.

A spot herbicide for weed control is effective at killing crabgrass and not grass, but it depends on the type of herbicide. Always check the label to ensure that your herbicide is safe for grass but tough on crabgrass. Overall, spot treatment is ideal because it puts fewer herbicides into the soil, which can damage the soil. If you’re wanting a natural remedy to crabgrass that also won’t harm surrounding grass, you can also hand-remove crabgrass or even pour boiling water or 5% vinegar over crabgrass as a spot treatment.

Each type of weed comes with its own control methods, but stopping the seed spread is the first step. Grazing, mowing, and hand pulling can slow the invasion. In some cases, selective herbicide is necessary to stop a persistent weed from overtaking an area.
