You’ll need a stud finder to get you started, but the installation will be a breeze if you’ve already done all the hard work to build the cabinet bases yourself. While having an assistant to help ensure safety and to lend a hand is desirable, if someone isn't around to assist, you can install kitchen cabinets on your own. If you're working on your own, consider installing the bases first and building a temporary support structure on top of them to help you install the uppers.

We recommend installing wall cabinets first so the base cabinets aren’t in the way. This order also prevents damage to the base cabinets if you drop tools or materials when installing the upper cabinets.

You can stack upper kitchen cabinets, but they may not fit neatly.
