The time it takes to fix a leaking pipe is determined by the location of the leak, the extent of the damage, and the experience level of the person completing this task. Leaks from exposed pipes should only take an hour or so, but that can increase to several hours if a significant section of pipe needs to be replaced. Try to tighten the clevis crew and adjust the lift rod if your sink stopper won’t stay up. Sometimes your screws became too loose over time, and as a result, there wasn’t enough resistance to keep the sink stopper up. If a damaged lift rod is the cause of the problem, you will need to replace it with a new rod.
