"Jez did great job running a 50 amp 220 line for our hot tub. Originally the hot tub was a 110 plug and play hot tub, I was never happy with its performance at 110. He came out looked at the set up and figured out how to convert it over to 220. Now we have all the power we need to run the jets and the heater at the same time! Thanks Jez, now we can stay in the tub as long as we want!"

"I have hired this business for many remodel projects, for finishing basements, and also framing a business and a custom over 6000 sf house from the ground up. Have been 100% satisfied with the customer service, the quality of the work, and the value. I highly recommend this business and Burke Valentine."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

Building a barndominium means converting a barn into a house. Barndominiums are becoming popular as spacious and stylish alternatives to typical housing structures. Old barns that become houses traditionally consist of wooden construction. However, newer structures, such as pole barns, often contain metal exteriors and roofs. Converting a metal outbuilding into a house presents an excellent opportunity to create a barndominium from metal.

While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.

Adding an extension or addition to your home costs more than a loft conversion in all but the rarest cases where the home's structural integrity is lacking. Because a home addition requires a new foundation section or significant structural upgrades to handle a cantilevered portion, the cost compared to almost any loft conversion is significantly greater for the same square footage.

Your foundation contractor will first need to remove the topsoil and any vegetation within 4 feet of the area around the barn. They’ll need to ensure they have clear access to the site to begin excavation, after which they can begin construction.

It is almost always more affordable to buy an existing home than to build a new one. Building a home involves numerous costs, including labor, permits, inspections, utility hookups, and brand-new materials, finishes, and appliances. Additionally, new construction loans can have higher interest rates than traditional mortgages, and property taxes on new homes are often higher, increasing long-term costs. An exception is a DIY house build, which can be cheaper than buying an existing home if you do the labor yourself. While building is generally more expensive, a new custom home offers complete control over the layout and design. Furthermore, new construction is typically worth more than a comparable pre-owned home and may provide a better return on investment if sold quickly.
