Carpets or Rugs - Clean OffsiteCarpets or Rugs - Clean at Home

"Jeremy showed up right on time. He cleaned the carpet so quietly and efficiently even our normally high strung dog didn't notice him much. He was up front about the things that could and couldn't be fixed and knowledgeable about cleaning carpet. We even had Pad Injection done at the site of a couple of really bad pet soiling areas. The whole house smells nice and clean now, and the carpets look great. There were a few spots that couldn't be gotten totally clean due to abuse on our part (really we should vacuum more often) but it looks fantastic. He took extra time at the end with his UV light to look for any remaining pet stains."

"John Reekers is exactly the kind of small-business owner you want to find and then tell everyone you know about. Army combat medic turned carpet cleaning professional ? and it shows in how he operates. Punctual, communicative, thorough, and genuinely proud of his work. He cleaned the carpets at my aunt's home in the Spirit Lake area, including some seriously tough staining (carpeted bathroom ? enough said), and the results had the whole family stunned. Best they've looked in over ten years. His low-moisture encapsulation process is effective, his pricing is fair, and his personality makes the whole experience a pleasure. Great sense of humor, zero-hassle communication, and he delivers exactly what he promises. Five stars doesn't cover it."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

No, thick carpet padding isn’t necessarily better than thinner padding. The appropriate padding thickness will depend on the type of carpet and the amount of foot traffic in the area.

For example, thick padding works well in low-traffic areas, like bedrooms, where you have soft and plush carpeting. However, thick carpet padding can damage low-pile carpet, which is used in the busiest parts of your home (like hallways and entryways). For that reason, it’s best to use thinner, heavier padding underneath carpet in high-traffic areas.

Taking carpet off stairs is an easy but multi-step process you can usually do yourself. If you have the right tools, time, and oomph to finish the job, removing carpet from stairs can be an easy-to-medium difficulty task, depending on your stairs, the type of carpet installed, and how willing you are to get your hands dirty. It’s important to review the process, gather the right tools before you begin, and follow a tutorial or directions while you work.

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.
