"Exceptional work and a true professional. Highly recommend and would happily hire Codey again. Codey helped us complete a partially finished basement office by adding trim and casing around two doors and an egress window, installed a bifold closet with trim/casing, and added baseboards around the room. His work was clean and detailed and the room looks great due to this. The best way to kill off an algae bloom in an aboveground pool is to shock it with a large dose of chlorine. Shock typically kills off algae in about one to three days, although it can take longer if the pool water is in poor condition. After the shock treatment, add algaecide to prevent algae from growing back, and test the water every few days with test strips to ensure the pool’s pH doesn’t get out of whack.

If you put too much chlorine in your pool, it can make the pH level more acidic, creating a health risk. You might experience symptoms like nausea, dizziness, vomiting, skin rashes, and irritation in the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs. To lower the chlorine level, you can turn off your chlorinator or chlorine feeder, add more water to dilute the pool, or remove the cover to let sunlight naturally reduce the chlorine.

If your pool takes longer than one or two days to fill, you might be dealing with low water pressure. Using a water pressure gauge on your outdoor tap, you can check your water pressure. A reading of 40 psi or below is considered low. A leak, a nearby water shutoff, or several other reasons could cause this. 

If the water pressure isn’t a problem, you could have a low flow rate from clogs, corroded pipes, or other plumbing issues. It’s best to call in a local plumber to get to the root of the issue.

If you put too much baking soda in your pool, your alkalinity will rise. That means you’ll need to take steps to lower your alkalinity. You can either add more water (which will require more chemicals because they’ll be diluted), wait for the alkalinity to lower naturally, or use a chemical like muriatic acid to lower it. 

Generally, you do not need to drain your pool to convert it to a saltwater system. The main exception is if you have used an antibacterial agent containing polyhexamethylene biguanide to sanitize your pool, as these sanitation products do not mix well with saltwater systems.
