They were easy to work with, listened, asked the right questions, made sure all permitting details were taken care of, and then took my design ideas (as well as my old deck-removal was included in the estimate) and made my vision happen under budget. They showed up as promised every day, came prepared, dealt with the mud on the hill they were working on, cleaned up, and even apologized for the muddy mess due to 4" of rain that week!! From bid acceptance to completion was about two weeks, but only due to the rain and an inspection delay. "This fall, we contracted with AJ Constuction to replace our deck with a composite material deck. The project went well until it came time to wrap up the project, and unfinished items. Our two biggest complaints were 1) the contractor has refused to turn over any materials purchase documents so we have record of the purchase for warranty purposes, and 2) We have an issue with one of the steps that has a saw cut in it that needs to be replaced. The contractor will not return text messages or calls. Before I would make a final payment to this contractor, I would make sure everything is totally complete, and you have all the paperwork to support the project. Our mistake was to give him a check late in the day of his final say on site, without having the ability to take a good long look at everything in the light of day.
