"I had Imperial stone do quarts in my kitchen and two baths. After spending almost 8000 you would expect a quality job but that's not what I had received. What I did get was wrong cuts, seam where no seam was suppose to be and a broken sink that they broke that took two months to be replace. After four month from the install date the job still is not fixed right."

Nu-Look Kitchens has been refacing kitchen cabinets since 1975. We use top of the line products including solid wood doors and 1/4" solid wood facing. We also carry a variety of styles and most popular colors offered for kitchen remodeling. Most competitors use 1/32" peel-n-stick veneer which doesn't stand the test of time. We built our business with motto "keep our customers happy & business will prosper". DON'T REPLACE - REFACE AND SAVE UP TO 50% vs. NEW CABINETS.

About Me My name is Don Jeffrey, some of my friends refer to me as Carpenter Don. I own and operate Don Jeffrey Construction here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Carpentry, Tile and Plumbing repair have been my areas of expertise for many years now. I am a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa as I graduated from Washington High School in 1981. I have several years vested with Carpenters Union Local #308 as a Journeyman Carpenter working in COMMERCIAL and INDUSTRIAL Businesses During the Mid to late 90's Some of my other Training has Been Through Highly Skilled Contractors in this area. I started working as a Property Maintenance Man in 1989 at different Apartment Complexes in Cedar Rapids. I wanted to learn how to build so I started Stick Framing in 1991 and Things took off from there. I truly understand how frustrating it can be to find someone you can trust to help you with your home or office remodeling projects. Most of my repeat customers don't even bother to ask me how much it will cost. They know that I will tell them the truth about their issue or Remodeling Project. I will always be Honest about the details. Take your time and do your research, Get 3-three bid's and make sure we are one of them is Mine. We are not the least expensive in town, and we are certainty not the most expensive. If you would like to Schedule an Appointment, for a FREE QUOTE you can send me a message here. Or you can Pick up the phone, send me a text or give me a call 319-804-5238 anytime Day or Night. You will be glad you did. I will help you through the entire process, from selecting the Best products for the money, to the final installation. Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

Travertine is a natural stone, while porcelain is ceramic. You can enjoy the best of both worlds with porcelain travertine tiles. Some people prefer porcelain to travertine because it doesn’t require regular maintenance and it’s easier to clean. Porcelain travertine looks like the real thing but only costs $3 to $6 per square foot.

Tiles last for around 100 years or more. Tiles on backsplashes can last even longer since they’re less likely to crack under foot traffic or from accidental drops, but even tile in high-traffic flooring can last a century or more with proper installation and upkeep. Porcelain tiles are denser and stronger than standard ceramic tiles, so they’ll last longer, often pushing past the 100-year mark.

For professional labor and materials, it would cost between $6,000 and $28,000 to install 1,000 square feet of Saltillo tile flooring. If that’s out of your budget, you could consider laying the tiles yourself or choosing a less expensive type of flooring. For example, vinyl flooring costs just $2 to $7 per square foot, so for a 1,000-square-foot space, you’d pay $2,000 to $7,000.

Marble is high maintenance, like most other types of natural stone flooring. However, because it is naturally a more porous stone, there are a few added care instructions. You will need to clean it often to prevent dirt and grit from scratching the finish and surface, keep it dry, clean up spills immediately, and have it professionally sealed and refinished at least once a year to maintain the shine and water-tight surface. However, investing in maintenance is a smart move because marble floors are among the most beautiful and valuable types of flooring when properly cared for.

Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. For this reason, it’s important to leave a slight gap between the bathtub and the first row of tile. Aim for a narrow gap of approximately 1/16 of an inch, filled with caulk, to allow for this expansion and movement while still allowing for tile shower waterproofing.
