I can do all sorts of basic trades/handyman work. A really full array of tools, a truck and trailer for hauling, and the know-how to do or learn most projects short of more involved plumbing and electrical. I've spent three seasons as a full-time landscaper and a good amount of time in the nursery industry as well, so I can do installation, design, that sort of thing.

Looking to add a focal point to your home that adds immediate value? Have a project in mind that’s too small for a contractor to bother but too complex for the tools you own? I build faux shiplap accent walls, hand rails, epoxy tables, custom closet organizers. I’ve been woodworking for ~10 years and recently finished my basement and home renovations. Experience swapping light fixtures, laying LVP, faucet / hardware replacement, hanging TVs, replacing storm doors and key-code locks, you name it. Shoot me a message if you have something in mind! Price depends on task requested.

When your septic system is failing, you’ll probably smell it. Common signs of a septic system failure include sewage odors in the home or around the yard, flooding in the yard above the septic tank or in the leach field, and wastewater or even raw sewage backing up into your home’s drains.

Before you hire a septic repair pro, make sure you get three written quotes from local companies to help you evaluate qualified candidates. Ask each company to provide proof of licensure and insurance. Finally, when you decide to hire a specific pro or company, ask for a written contract that sets out all the essential terms, including specific work expectations, a timeline, what permits are needed, who is responsible for obtaining permits, and clear payment details, including due dates.

When septic systems begin to fail, your waste will start to seep into the groundwater. You may notice a foul odor (it’ll smell like sewage) or a squishy, moist lawn. The grass right over your tank or drain field might grow super lush and green because your waste actually fertilizes it. Other signs include standing water in your drain field, slow-draining sinks and tubs, and gurgling noises in the plumbing.

A household of four can easily fill a 1,000-gallon septic tank within a week. It may be 10 to 14 days for smaller households. But the reason why you don't need weekly pumping is because the tank's contents eventually reach the overflow pipe. They flow down this pipe to the absorption area whenever water is used in your home. The tank keeps working at this full level until it's pumped again.

Natural bacteria break down sludge in a septic tank by dissolving and consuming the solid waste. Your septic tank needs this bacteria to work correctly and avoid filling beyond capacity. You can increase the natural bacteria in your septic tank by adding three rotten tomatoes through your garbage disposal every three months.
