We set up a time for the following morning. The next morning they called and had to put off the appointment until later due to an emergency call, but had given me plenty of notice, so not a problem whatsoever...that was courteous business practice. He ended up being a tad later than planned, but again, no big deal. He proceeded to give me an estimate for the work that I wanted done, which was to have a stump removed. I asked him for a price, since he'd have his equipment there, to take another tree down, too. He talked me out of taking that tree down, explaining to me the value of the tree, and that had I not been messing with it all of these years, it would be a nice shade tree by now. He showed me how to trim it and we moved on. He then explained how I could remove the stump I wanted removed myself, saying that I really didn't need to be paying him to do it. Not too many businesses would do that! He helped me with tips on the new tree I was going to be planting in the near future, and on the way to his truck he even gave me a tip on how to get my hard maple tree in my front yard to grow prettier leaves. All of this customer service for not a dime out of my pocket. If and when I do need to have tree service, I will definitely be calling this company again. Plant Watering reviews from real Angi homeowners in Davenport, IA
The project went well and the designer worked with me, adjusting the design to get within my budget. He was also willing to work with my existing plants that we felt could be salvaged.

Estimate call was comprehensive for both carpenter ants and termites inside and outside. Took enough time and explained the problem. Gave plan for treatment, listened to my concerns about my plants and possible effect on bees, butterflies, and snakes. Talked this over several times still...

I started construction 6 years ago. Quickly excelled in the industry of general construction, and foundation work. Whether it’s a deck/patio, some concrete is cracking, an old basement with lots of spiders, or a crawlspace no one’s been into for years. I’ll go head first to see what’s going on and get the job done! A little about me: Within 6 months of working construction, I became a foreman running a crew on job sites. In a little over 2 years, I decided to dabble in the superintendent role which meant running a remote shop hundreds of miles away from the main facility. I quickly learned how stressful the industry can be, but also how rewarding it is being the last person to talk to the homeowner and always leaving with a new friend.

I do everything inside and out. I have 7 years of carpentry experience and have worked as a carpenter in the military. I can do stairs, decks, siding, cabinets, trim, doors, windows, shelving, some auto repairs, anything else you can name. I will also build furniture, cutting boards, or any other specialty items. I am married with 2 children and I am currently a full time Firefighter with 2 out of 3 days off so I have plenty of time to work for you.
"I was extremely pleased. The young man was on time, polite and efficient. I look forward to calling him for future home projects."

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
