Tim, his foreman, & crew did a great job. They were respectful of my property by covering all plants with plywood and sawhorses. They rolled my yard, sidewalks, and driveway with magnets for much longer than I expected them too as they were at my home until almost 9pm getting the job finished. Honestly once they left there was no sign of any roofers even being on my property. They found a third layer of shingles that needed to be tore of when they arrived, which the additional charge was pretty reasonable considering the extra work. I also had a small dip in some rafters, which was reinforced from the attic and there is no sign of this ever existing. There also was slight damage to my rear gutters which they returned within two days to fix with no sign of the damage. A+ service. Easily recommend this company for anyone else looking for a quality crew. As that is the busy season it was a few weeks before Roderick, the designer, came out to meet with us. We discussed my vision, what plants I like and what might be done to repair the sidewalk and improve the drainage in out backyard. A few weeks later he emailed me a design and estimate. As I am particular about plants I spent a few weeks deciding on some changes to the plan. Roderick made good recommendation about the best plants and placement according to light and design and warned me away from plants that would be climate risky. I was able to go to Miller nursery to look at plants and decide what I wanted. They have a good selection on nice healthy plants. When those decisions were made I was offered the option to come out and approve the actual plants he had chosen, which I did and found he had made good choices. We had to delay the planting of one of the trees and a couple of shrubs, they were out of stock for the season. The work began in mid September. Workers were punctual, pleasant and worked hard. They did a great job laying the sidewalk which with flagstone is not easy. The new bed out front looked great. There were a few details that dragged out for a few weeks after that. We had trouble with the grout on the sidewalk but that was eventually fixed. This spring when all the new plants came up and the trees leafed out I was very please with the results. Everything looked great. The tree that was planted had been damaged but what we all thought was likely deer. The tree could have survived but it didn't look too good. The warranty does not cover animal damage but Roderick offered to pay for half a new tree, we took him up on that. Yesterday they came and planted 2 trees moved a couple things and planted 3 shrubs in just over an hour and did a great job. Everything looks fabulous and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I was in no hurry to complete this project so I didn't mind that it took some time. I wanted to be involved in the decision making about the plants which took extra time. Roderick and the nursery were not always super prompt in responding to emails and phone calls but I did not think the response time was unreasonable. I think if I had contacted them in the winter or early spring to do the planning the project would have moved much faster. I would recommend Miller Nursery and would use them again for landscaping projects.

Bob was hardly ever at my house to see how things were going. One day his 2 workers were at my house doing a two hour job, but they were there for four hours with no transportation. They had been dropped off by the owners son, who left to get some material. The two workers had no way to get lunch, so I loaned them my car, (as I was busy in the house), this went well, it's just the fact that I had to provide the transportation for their lunch. The contract was written for: tear out and pour 14 X 12 patio and build a 6 foot fence with a double gate to go around the patio. As Bob and I talked I decided to go with a four foot picket fence, which he agreed to. At this time the fence seems to be okay. The contract also states that the fence would have a six foot wide double gate, I got a single gate four foot wide, not what I wanted but agreed to. The wood slats for the fence were cut to four feet tall when the workers finished there was quite a bit of slats left over. I asked the workers to leave them and they said that Bob said to take them and I could talk to Bob about it. I think I paid for those extra slats, but unfortunately I did not ask to see a receipt. I was glad the job was finished because I was expecting out of state company, so I did not pursue this issue. I also noticed that the workers stepped on my plants which were next to the fence. Another day the workers came for about an hour and said they had to leave because they were going to Bob's girlfriend's house to put in a fence. When it came time to pay the balance, Bob tried to charge me $350.00 more for the extra slab and fence where the trash cans are placed. I told him I measured the fence and the slab and the extra was included in the contract and I told him about the other issues, the car loan, workers leaving to put a fence in for his girlfriend and the workers trampled my plants. Bob said he knew none of this and agreed to drop the extra $350.00.Now seven months later the concrete is cracking so bad that it may have to be replaced. I have tried to contact Bob, but he does not return my calls. I think he is very unprofessional because of these issues. They had to work it in around our extremely rainy spring weather, but they came early on one of our rare dry days, removed all the old grass and put in the new sod in one day. Then the clouds opened up again and I was able to take advantage of free watering for a couple of weeks. Matt gave me a very good price, even offered to work around the areas that were still growing well, though that would have made it more difficult for him. The lawn is beautiful and we have had many compliments on it from the neighbors. After I listed my house I realized I needed a load of river rock to finish a walkway project and to fill in some bare spots in the backyard, so I shot off an email to Matt Kaldenberg telling him I needed rock asap; here it was Friday, pictures of the house were to be taken Monday, I needed the weekend to spread it, and could he possibly get me the rock today? Within fifteen minutes his smiling driver was dumping $250 worth of rock in my driveway! Great service! Whenever I need advice (how much to water, how soon to mow, what fertilizer to use and when) I just send an email to Matt and he answers the same day."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ia/johnston/kaldenberg%27s-pbs-landscaping-and-lawncare-reviews-7725724.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Prestige One Landscaping","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"IA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Gregory B."},"reviewBody":"Had a great visit checking out our current landscaping and discussing options and ideas. which plants were worth keeping and relocating. His first job was to take out a substantial bump in our driveway that also involved removing an large invading tree root. He dug a trench about three feet deep, cut and removed the root, refilled and compacted the dirt to smooth the grade and replaced the asphalt. I couldn't have asked for a more thorough or competent job. He also explained that because the offending tree is still standing near the driveway, this fix would last from 5 to 10 years before the root regrew and disturbed the driveway. We chose to let the tree remain, but are glad that Habran explained our choices and the consequences. At this time, he also did some minor grading, laid hardware cloth, then D G rock and compacted it to rehabilitate a nasty garden path. We couldn't be happier with the service, the cost and the results in both cases. The second job performed in November 2012 was to remove some slate pavers, do more substantial regrading and lay more D G rock in the backyard, connecting to the existing path. This was a much larger area, with more challenging topography and the need to move and replace many large potted plants. The regrading involved digging much farther than needed simply to grade in order to remove large protruding granite rocks. As before, this work was performed by Habran and his crew very carefully and professionally. They extended the path slightly beyond the estimated end in order to achieve a better overall look. I am extremely satisfied with the work performed by this company and recommend them to anyone needing asphalt installation, repair, slurry seal coating, concrete grading, gravel and D G or tree stump and root removal. "Titan did a magnificent job on my property during the past week. I needed the following done: Grading work on my 3 acre property and three different types of rocks delivered. I also needed additional black dirt brought in to make it perfect.
From start to finish the communication was excellent with Will. He let me know what time they would get to my job and everything that was going on during the work process. This is something that a lot of contractors just fail to do in my past experiences.
They provide top notch equipment, with many different attachments for various types of jobs during the entire process. This ensures that the job is done correctly, the first time!
Lastly, customer service could not be better. They (Will and Tim) stayed with the job until I was completely satisfied. Always keeping a great attitude no matter how many questions I asked. Even going the extra nine yards finishing the job better than I expected.

FAQs for plant watering projects in Clive, IA
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
