"I recently had a challenging experience finding a landscaping company to handle my fall cleanup and tree and bush trimming needs around my property. Several companies I contacted for estimates failed to follow up. Fortunately, I came across a recommendation for Junk B Squared Away on Angi, and I couldn't be happier with their services. Right from the start, they stood out as a responsive and reliable choice. They promptly visited my property to provide an estimate and even sent me pictures to confirm the work required. What truly impressed me was the exceptional quality of their work. Despite specializing in junk removal, their tree and bush trimming was detailed and precise. They were punctual, respectful of my property, and friendly, even taking the time to inquire about my two dogs. Thanks to their efforts, my property looks as beautiful as the day I bought my home. The pricing was also more than reasonable, and the two individuals who came to work were some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of dealing with. I'm looking forward to reaching out to Junk B Squared Away again in the winter for some actual junk removal from my garage and my broken trampoline. It's a relief to have a go-to contractor for these types of tasks! Highly recommended."

"Miller and his colleagues were able to do a lot of things quickly. Along with everything else, they also grabbed some old furniture that I needed help moving to the curb. They took several cares to make sure nothing was damaged during the move, including wrapping the furniture, turning off all the lights, and packaging the picture frames."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

You may be able to install a garbage disposal on your own, especially if you're handy or have some experience with plumbing. However, if you have any concerns or want to make absolutely sure that the connections are installed correctly, you may be better off hiring a local garbage disposal installer to do the job.

No, you do not need a garbage disposal to have a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without one, and while it's rare to see a home with a dishwasher that doesn't have a disposal, it is possible. The two appliances pair well and are often installed together because a disposal simplifies meal cleanup.

However, your dishwasher should not be used as a replacement for a garbage disposal. Subjecting it to continuous food leftovers can lead to major clogs. If you choose not to install a garbage disposal, you should thoroughly rinse your plates or scrape excess food into the trash or a compost pile before loading them into the dishwasher to prevent plumbing issues.

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.

Garbage disposals are durable appliances that usually last at least eight years as long as you clean and maintain them. It’s relatively rare for a garbage disposal to break on its own, as most malfunctions happen due to user errors, like overstuffing the grinding compartment or damaging the blades by trying to dispose of metal or bone. Eventually, cracks or leaks could develop in the unit, which requires a full replacement.
