"Equipment was outdated and I was not happy with the cuts made into my ducts in order to hook up the equipment. I wish I had been made aware of this beforehand. I also did not like the fact that the trash per say is blasted into the air ( meaning I never got a clear definition of how they dispose of the gunk in your vents). Overall I am okay with the service received. I also want to say it would have been nice to know that they were coming, didn't get proper notification."

"Jimenez Service responded to my Angi request within an hour. I explained the work to the office administrator. They had availability to do my work the same afternoon. The handyman was very polite, asked good questions, was up front with costs, and performed the work I requested within the same afternoon. He even fixed the hot tub motor, which I had not been sure could be repaired. The charge was as quoted, I payed on the spot, and can now move on with other things. I couldn’t be happier with this crew."

"Initially had them come out because our AC stopped in the dead of summer. Was so impressed by the honesty and non sale approach. My tech was there to genuinely fix my issue, did not mention an upsell once. Will not use any other HVAC company"

"Great service but a little pricey for an hour and 20 minutes. In closing they rock for figuring out the problem and very helpful in explaining the problem, so overall a 4.5 for service."

"Initial installation was flawed, they had to come back out twice to get it fixed right. The last guy; believe his name was "Matt," was very good."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"RADON SYSTEM WAS NOT WORKING. (Installed by another company years ago). The phone contact was pleasant and efficient. The Technician came on the agreed day and the agreed time: he explained what was wrong, explained the options, then repaired the system so it is working better than it did when first installed."

"Our ducts are clean, but our walls have some nasty looking dents now. We live in an older home with older vent covers. The guy who came out to clean our ducts used a power drill to unscrew the vent cover, but for some of them that wasn't enough to get them off because they were painted shut. He then used his power drill to pry the covers off and pushed the drill against our walls for leverage. In the process of doing that he put several dents in the walls. When I pointed this out to him, he said there was nothing he could do to prevent that and I could hire them to fix the dents if I wanted. I really wish he had taken a bit more care. A different kind of tool or just a knife would have clearly done the job without damaging the walls. I am sure Westwood services usually does a nice job. He just seemed to be in a hurry or something. He also said he would vacuum up the dirt he left around all the vent covers if he had a vacuum. For someone who comes into a home to vacuum out the ducts, that seemed like an extremely bizarre statement. Again, more care would have been greatly appreciated. I am not using Westwood services again. Not to fix the walls or to vacuum out the ducts. If I had known a $199 Angie's list deal means you get the rough shot treatment and dents in your walls, I would have preferred to pay full price.

Common repairs for central vacuum cleaners include motor repair, electrical repair, and blocked filters. Central vacuum motor issues typically come with a burning smell and loss of suction. With these issues, you might need simple lubrication to keep it running smoothly, or for more extreme problems, you could need a motor replacement.
Electrical problems or losing suction strength, might be reasons to swap out electrical components for new ones. However, a local central vacuum repair professional can tell you the best plan of action for your system.
The average cost for central vacuum cleaner repair is $310, though prices can range from $120 to $500. Your total cost will depend on the type of repair needed and the type of central vacuum you own.
A minor motor repair, like lubrication, only costs around $50. However, if you need to replace your motor, you’ll be looking at a much higher price tag with a total of $100 to $500. Other fixes, like electrical work, are charged by the hour, which ranges from $15 to $55 per hour.
The average cost to hire an HVAC contractor is between $50 and $150 per hour if charging hourly. However, some HVAC contractors will charge a flat fee by the type of service they are performing—for example, an inspection can cost between $150 to $500. Keep in mind that emergency repairs—which are made after business hours or around major holidays—generally cost more than scheduled repairs.
Yes, most states require HVAC technicians to be certified, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed HVAC technician could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The cost for air duct cleaning is about $380, on average. However, costs can range between $270 and $500, depending on location, number of vents, duct accessibility, and how much cleaning is required. Additional factors can impact the cost of cleaning your air ducts, such as removing pests, mold and mildew, asbestos, and other unforeseen needs. Any repairs will also add to the cost of the job.
