"They did an amazing job. They were very careful. they had to work around garages and highlines. The tree was hanging over the top of the garage. Was a very large tree. I would highly recommend they. Went above and beyond. I would give them a 10 star."

"Brenden does absolutely fantastic work, apart from the tree looking 100 percent better, I would never have known that he was here because he cleaned up everything so well! He even had immediate approval from one of my neighbors who liked his work so much, he came over and asked Brenden if he could trim his tree as well!"

"I recently had a huge tree removed by Billâ s Tree Service. I was completely satisfied with each part of the process including fair quote, timely communication throughout the process, quality work in removing tree and cleaning up after the work was done. My tree had to be about 50-80 years old. It was surrounded by garage, house and fence. Extreme care was used in removing tree resulting in no damage to structures. I highly recommend Bills Tree Service and his amazing crew!"

"Pros: Price, professionalism, insurance, great cleanup. Cons: None. Needed a tree removed that was directly between the rear of my house and shed. I also requested to have a nearby limb on an adjacent tree trimmed back. Decided I would get 5 quotes prior to making my decision on service provider. Deciding factors for me: insurance, price. Westbrook came in with the best price and speedy service - I asked when they could be here, and they said "tomorrow." Westbrook employees operated responsibly and professionally when on my property. Services were completed within roughly 4 hours of start time, and the cleanup was impressive. My wife commented that the patio area around where the tree was taken down was actually cleaner than it was prior to tree removal. Great job guys!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.

For Bradford pears, damage from storms is common, and if the trunk splits, it can pose a danger to people and surrounding structures. The best thing to do in that instance is to have the tree removed. If there’s only minor damage to the branches, pruning away the damaged parts is the first order of business. You may also want to consult a professional arborist to make sure the tree is healthy.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.

According to scientists at Penn State University, spotted lanternflies do not typically kill the trees and plants they feed on, but they can cause branches and segments to die off. However, they have been found to kill cultivated grapes, which can have devastating consequences for vineyard owners and regions that heavily rely on vineyards to create jobs and generate revenue. They have also killed the Ailanthu altissima, known as the tree of heaven, though this is classified as a noxious and invasive weed tree.

In most ways, palm trees are incredibly low-maintenance. They don’t need a ton of water—which is why they’re so beloved in desert regions—and they basically prune themselves. But they do need an ample supply of sunlight and to be in soil that will allow for proper drainage so that their roots don’t become waterlogged and at risk of developing illnesses.

If the plant begins to wilt, develop spots, or change color, these could all be signs that your palm tree has a disease. But a few basic treatments, like pruning and applying fungicide, will usually be more than enough to return it to perfect health.
