"Very professional company with great customer service and all the assurances you need. The owner provided proof of insurance and bonding which was impressive. She also utilized a checklist to ensure they were cleaning what I wanted them to clean, but nothing more and accepts debit cards for payment following the service. They also guaranty their work and will fix anything that was not done to your satisfaction. I plan on using this company on a recurring basis."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

For the best chemicals to clean a metal roof, stick to gentle detergents such as dish soap, laundry detergent, or car-wash soap mixed in a diluted solution of ¼ cup of soap to 1 gallon of water. These mild cleansers are safe for most roof finishes but are still strong enough to remove remaining dirt particles. Chemicals like bleach or acids can damage your roof, poison landscaping and grass, and pose a hazard to you and your family. If your roof is very dirty or you think it requires chemical cleaning, call a roof cleaning professional.

Yes, moss can be dangerous for your roof if left in place to grow without treatment. The moss soaks up and holds moisture. Having a constantly damp roof could lead to problems with rot for the parts of the roof that consist of wood. Additionally, a patch of thick moss may draw insects and birds, which could damage the roof. Thick moss could block the roof’s drainage system. Water then may back up after a rainstorm and cause further damage that could eventually lead to roof repair expenses or the cost of roof replacement.

Inspect annually for damage, clean debris, and reapply sealant to maintain protection.

Both bleach and vinegar are effective at killing and removing moss from surfaces like driveways. Bleach tends to have a longer-lasting effect, potentially keeping moss away for up to a year, whereas vinegar may require more frequent applications. However, vinegar is a non-chemical option that is gentler on the environment. A key consideration is the surface you are treating, as both substances can stain or discolor certain paver materials. It is recommended to test the solution on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't cause damage.

Regular cleaning, promptly repairing minor issues, ensuring proper drainage, and using rust-resistant coatings help prevent recurring damage.
