"Ben messaged me, 4-30-23, in response to a Facebook post I made about landscape changes I wanted to make. This included removing dead bushes, digging out and removing the exhausting rocks, putting in a block border, and filling it in with mulch. The quote was free and we were told $600 to do everything plus materials. He rescheduled on me several times and when he eventually came out, 5-15-23, it was a cover up job. He cut the bushes off at the ground, canâ t plant anything near all those roots, nor can I dig them out easily now. He did not remove any rock, like agreed upon, and just dumped the mulch on top. He said â I was doing some digging and it helps to have rock underneath mulch.â No, for the same reasons as not fully removing the bushes. The only thing that was done well was the landscaping blocks for the border. My husband paid him the day he finished the work and when I got home that night we immediately found out that he had not removed the rocks, did not put down landscaping fabric, and did not correctly remove the bushes. When I asked him for the itemized statement he blocked me on Facebook, and assumed I wouldnâ t be able to take it any further. If you see this Ben, know that I am looking at small claims court. The work you did was not worth what we paid. And you never told us about changes you made to our agreed upon services/prices. You claim not to have charged us for the removal of rocks and the landscaping fabric, but refused to give an itemized statement to back up your claim. I have photos of everything, including the messages to back up the fact that you didnâ t do what you were asked and paid for."

"I hired Elder? to remove a large, 40"diameter stump from a small side hill in my yard to make room for a 30"-high retaining wall. My initial review on google for Elder was fine, but that was before the retaining wall company came to put up the wall. Elder? knew why the stump was being removed, and what my needs were regarding depth and distance into the hill. When the work was completed, it initially appeared the work was sufficient, but that was due to them not clearing the area of the mulch to ensure proper depth, Now, that was partially on me, as I stated I would be keeping the mulch to use in another area of my yard. However, that should not have prevented them from clearing the actual work area to be able to judge depth. When the retaining wall company came to install, it was noted that they needed to remove many of the roots that had not been grinded down to properly place the wall. This cost me an additional $450, which is more than Elder? charged me."
