Hello home owners, I have been in Construction since 2010 and have done a variety of work. I currently provide handymen services covering general house upkeep, doors, windows, fixtures, blinds, small repairs, rental readiness, landscaping, pressure washing, minor electrical, minor plumbing, etc. and small to medium residential kitchen and bath remodels. I am not licensed as a general contractor but can provide a fair labor cost for carpentry work and manage the renovation with the use of trusted sub contractors to ensure your home will be completed in good quality to your liking. With my knowledge and experience, I can ensure the work will be done safely and in accordance to codes, and regulations. I am experienced at renovating homes new and old, and am currently working on getting licensed to do more work. I can help you answer some questions by providing a vision for your remodel upon a walk-through. I also can provide contacts for other work needed such as roofing, flooring, electrical, plumbing, and such alike. Let's connect, and create a remodel you will love for years to come! Bryson

Mailbox Repair questions, answered by experts

High humidity and moisture are the main causes of wood furniture damage, which cause it to warp or crack. You’ll always want to quickly clean and dry any spilled liquids on wood. Make sure you’re storing your furniture in dry places unless it’s been weather treated—that means your outdoor patio may not be the best spot for your antique side table.

Furniture repair costs around $200 on average, and most project costs fall between $100 and $500. The price you can expect to pay will depend on the type of furniture you’re repairing, the extent of the damage, and the size and age of the piece. Reupholstering and couch frame repair are the most expensive, sometimes costing $1,000, while fixes like repairing a scratch or replacing a spring in a couch or armchair will usually cost under $100. Older furniture requires more care and will typically cost more to repair.

Wood filler can be used to repair minor scratches, dents, and damages on wood veneer. Simply scrape the wood filler over the chipped or scratched area. Make sure to leave a little bit more than you need so you can sand it down for a smoother finish. Repaint or restrain the surface to ensure a consistent color.

Repairs typically take 2-4 hours, depending on the complexity of the problem.

Not always—heavily worn or broken furniture often isn’t worth repairing or refinishing (if it’s even possible). While some damage can be repaired and some of the visual appeal restored, major flaws, such as structural issues, can’t be fixed as easily. If you still want a cost-saving furniture refinishing project rather than purchasing all new, consider shopping for similar secondhand pieces at thrift stores, garage sales, and estate sales.
