Customers say: True professional

"Tim remodeled our master bathroom. We ended up having more water damage than originally identified. He did the demo and found the damage. He repaired all the damaged areas and rebuilt the floors and walls. He did a fantastic job! He rearranged the set up and was able to give us a walk in tiled shower, soaking tub, double sinks, and a large walk in closet. He removed our original bathroom door and replaced it with a barn door. Just beautiful. Tim took us out to Lowe’s to pick out everything we wanted for the bathroom. In addition he offered choices and suggestions to improve the look of the bathroom. We are so very pleased with the work he and his team did! He completed the job in the promised time frame and the cost was very fair. Tim had shown to be very meticulous on every aspect of the rebuild. He clearly takes pride in the work he does. I would highly recommend him for any job. We are also currently working with him again to do a remodel on our kitchen/ dining room."

Tv Mount Install questions, answered by experts

Determining if mounting a TV on the wall or mounting it on a stand is better boils down to personal preference. TV mounts are an excellent choice for homes that have limited space, unruly dogs, or young children. They also allow you to customize the height and viewing angle more easily. At the same time, mounting a TV on an entertainment center stand offers additional storage space, a place to hide the wires, and fewer holes in the wall. Renters may also have limitations on drilling holes into the wall above certain diameters.

Yes, you can mount a TV on plaster walls—as long as you attach it to the studs. Alternatively, you can use toggle bolts, molly bolts, or another type of hardware that’s strong enough to support a TV.

If you aren’t comfortable with this type of project, you can hire a pro. The cost of mounting a TV to a plaster wall ranges from $25 to $600 (or more), depending on the TV’s weight, size, and other factors.

Yes, drywall can hold a 50-pound TV. However, when mounting a TV, you’ll either need to attach it to wall studs or use drywall anchors. If you use anchors, make sure to buy a type that can hold at least 50 pounds. Molly bolts, threaded anchors, and toggle bolts are all good options. For extra support, you can also install a wall mounting plate with the anchors.

You will be placing holes in the wall to hang the mounting bracket. If you’re mounting a large TV, the bolts in use could make significant holes around half an inch in diameter. Other than a few holes, though, the process of mounting the TV should not cause significant damage to the wall, unless you make an error and miss the wall stud, tearing out drywall. Should you decide to remove the mount later, the DIY drywall repair cost for a small hole usually is $10 to $30. It’s a repair you can do in a few minutes.

It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging. Our suggestion is metal drywall toggle anchors.
