Ahlers & Ogletree Auction Gallery is a full-service auction gallery strategically located on Miami Circle in the historic Buckhead district of Atlanta, one of the Southeastern United States’ largest commercial and financial centers. The gallery is owned and operated by Robert Ahlers and his wife Christy Ogletree Ahlers whose collective 25 years of experience in the Atlanta estate and auction industry forms the backbone of the company. The partners are recognized for expanding regional interest in the industry, fostering an environment of integrity and honesty, and for introducing an innovative brand that offers turn-key service for any estate. The gallery is generously housed in two buildings on Miami Circle – our showroom and auction floor comprising about 8,000 square feet, and our warehouse and offices comprising about 17,000 square feet. These spaces allow optimal flexibility for pre-auction storage of estates as well as prime location for previewing items to the Southeast’s most elite buyers. The gallery presents between 8-10 auctions each year featuring a diverse assortment of items and collections including rare objects, fine art, estate jewelry, vintage automobiles, fine silver, collectibles, antique furniture, and rare maps and books. Our offerings come from leading collectors and private estates, as well as deaccessioned works from museums. Our live auctions are held in Atlanta but are attended via phone and internet by bidders from across the nation and world. Each sale is broadcast on three live bidding platforms – Invaluable.com, LiveAuctioneers, com, and Bidsquare.com – as well as on our proprietary bidding platform – Bid.AandOauctions.com – and our award winning smart phone app. Ahlers & Ogletree Auction Gallery is part of The Ahlers Group, one of the largest antiques dealers in the Atlanta area having a consortium of companies dealing in fine antiques and estate liquidation. The Ahlers Group comprises Peachtree Battle Antiques & Interiors, a retail antique store located in a historic building in the noted Peachtree Battle Shopping Center; Black Bear Antiques, located in Ellijay, Georgia offering a wide array of mountain living furniture and housewares; and Peachtree Battle Estate Sales & Liquidations, which offers both in-home estate sales and on-site gallery sales at their location on Miami Circle.

"1) A medical bracelet is a necessity for my husband to wear. The one I purchased is classy looking with a suit, yet fine for casual wear. (Much, much better looking than the cheap one he was wearing.) 2) My diamond ring looks as beautiful as it did the day it was purchased. 3) I've also had other bracelets and earrings repaired over several years. I'm not hesitant on leaving my jewelry with them for repair. I feel confident that they will take care of it as if it were their own and return it better than before. Pictures are made of the piece/pieces upon acceptance so there is no question. Smart!"

Estate shutters are considered a high-end window treatment that increases home value. As previously mentioned, this project comes with an ROI of up to 75%. Shutters can also improve your home’s energy efficiency, especially if you choose PVC or faux wood shutters, which will lead to long-term savings on your energy bills.

Wainscoting isn’t a design element that can be directly tied to an increased house price. Despite that, it is a highly marketable element that can generate significant interest from potential buyers who enjoy the style, and is relatively inexpensive to remove for those who don’t. If you are on the fence about paneling, just know that it certainly wouldn’t result in depreciation of your home’s value—usually the opposite.

Your home insurance company may allow you to use an appraisal instead of an inspection when you apply for coverage. Keep in mind that despite this, an appraisal is far less detailed than the different types of home inspections available and may not reveal potential risks that you’ll want to know about.

While a finished basement adds value to your home, it is assigned a different value than space on the main floors. An appraiser will assess the square footage of a finished basement at about 50% to 60% of the value of the square footage for the rest of your home. Appraisal value for a finished basement depends on your location’s real estate market and the specifics of the basement and how it was finished.

Although the exact return on your investment will depend on the size, style, and quality of your awning, in general, awnings do add resale value to a house by providing more usable space. If an awning doesn’t do much in the way of monetary gains due to its low installation costs, it promises to provide an excellent appeal factor to a potential home buyer.
