I meet Alan while looking online at houses, just prior to getting serious about purchasing a new home. Our previous home was in a distressed development and a low-ball builder had come in and was building sub-$300K homes right alongside our $500K home. Alan was extremely knowledgeable about not only the real estate profession but the mortgage industry as well as he has spent several years as a mortgage broker. The combination of those two critical skill sets coupled with his excellent communication skills were a perfect match for me. As I am very detailed and like to be very hands-on, Alan recognized that and tailored his interactions to match.
During tense moments while selling my house, Alan never got flustered, he was calm throughout the storm and weathered the low-ball offers. He educated me throughout the process and provided excellent guidance on navigating the selling & subsequent purchasing process.
As a detail-oriented customer, I had high expectations of him and he exceeded them at every opportunity. I had sold several homes prior to meeting Alan and those interactions were just 'necessary business transactions'; basically a means to an end.
