"We had bought our new house in January 2017, and we had no idea if our two fireplaces needed cleaning or repair. I called Oconee Chimney Company because of their great reviews. Charlie returned my call, and we set up an appointment. He was on time and very professional and knowledgeable. It turned out that we didn't need any work at all, but Charlie only made this determination after doing a thorough check of the both fireplaces and the roof. And he didn't charge for the inspection of any of them. I felt bad he spent all that time and I couldn't pay him, but he didn't want a cent. I will use him in the future if the need arises, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs work on their fireplace."

hello! we are a young 23 year old couple and we have recently started our own house cleaning business. We have a lot of experience since my girlfriends mom has been cleaning houses for the past 15 years and she has helped her since she was younger. I have also been helping them for the past 2-3 years. We are hoping to get some more clients and be successful! We are also willing to do different tasks, just ask!

Hello I’m Chloe. I take pride in my job and always do my exceptionally best to please, and satisfy every customer, so I can see each person again and build close customer relationships. I’ve previously managed large groups and worked in small teams for couple years on cleaning homes and office buildings in surrounding areas. I currently live in Athens, but I am willing to travel outside to Oconee, Jackson, Madison, and Oglethorpe County to fulfill my duties. I do take good care of my body to withstand physically demanding work, so nothing is too hard for me. I’d be the best choice cause every customer is treated like family!

If you’re looking for a cost-effective alternative to a traditional chimney, consider having a dummy chimney installed. Dummy chimneys can either be aesthetic-only or fully functional and can be installed on both new and older homes. Whether installed to match your neighborhood’s aesthetic or to vent your chimney, dummy chimneys are made out of a Glass-Reinforced Plastic (GRP) core, then covered with brick or stone slips to look like a traditional chimney.

Soapstone wood stoves hold onto heat the longest, which means you can burn less fuel and enjoy the warmth for longer. Additionally, catalytic wood stoves include a catalytic combustor that can reduce emissions and create a cleaner burn no matter what the stove is made of. Of course, the most efficient wood stoves also tend to be costlier up front—but they can still save you money in the long run.

Yes, it is possible to convert a wood-burning fireplace to gas. The average cost for this conversion is $3,000, with a typical range of $500 to $5,500. The project involves running a gas line, professionally cleaning the chimney, and installing gas logs.

Cost factors include the type of gas fireplace and whether a new gas line is needed. Installing a natural gas line can add $200 to $1,000 to the cost. Vented gas fireplaces are more expensive, averaging around $5,000, while ventless options are more cost-effective at about $1,500.

Yes, masonry fireplaces require an adequately constructed chimney to vent smoke and gases.

Regular cleaning prevents the buildup of creosote and soot, ensuring good airflow and reducing the risks of chimney fires that could compromise safety.
