"I was not able to be present at the address where the repairs were done. I communicated with Romeo by phone and text. He took pictures of the things outside the house that needed to be repaired and sent them to me. We decided what needed to be done, set a price and then Romeo started working on them the very next day. We talked by phone every day and he sent me pictures of the work he had done each day. He worked every day until the projects were done. He trusted me to send payment to him by mail and he did not ask for it until the job was done. I am extremely pleased with his work and I plan to use him for the other projects I need to have done on the inside of the house. I appreciate his honesty, the way he kept me informed and for the great job he did. I highly recommend him and I will definitely use him again for any repairs I need to have done!"

"Rob was very helpful in helping with picking out paint colors, and, letting me know how dark, or, bright they would look with the natural light on the room. He used some unused paint that he had on hand to prime coat some of the rooms, thus saving me money. They repainted when I chose a color that I later didn't like, with a minimum of eye rolling. Lol The workers cleaned up after themselves everyday. They did excellent Sheetrock repair, and, Rob is an excellent detail painter -- no taping needed!

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

How long it takes to install composite decking depends on the size of the decking material, the skills of the person installing the deck, the number of people helping, and how much prep work needs to be done before you can begin. Generally speaking, it takes anywhere from a few days to several weeks to build a composite deck.

Deck repairs cost around $800 to $3,500 . However, your cost depends on the type and severity of the repair, as well as the type of decking material you have. Other factors, like location and labor costs, impact the price, too. Boards and railings are the priciest parts of a deck to repair, while loose stairs are less expensive to fix.

To prepare a deck for a hot tub, start by thinking about safe and easy access in and out of the tub. Homeowners should plan for steps or consider built-in seating, a level surface around the perimeter, and a clear, slip-resistant path from the house. A hot tub requires sufficient space around it for comfortable entry and exit, ensuring no awkward squeezing or stepping over high edges. Good lighting and handrails can also make a big difference, especially for nighttime use.

Yes, adding railing to a deck is a great way to improve safety and your home’s aesthetic appeal. Railings can be constructed from wood, metal, or composite, and there are plenty of choices regarding design and style. Always consult local building codes before starting any building project—there are often requirements regarding spacing and height that can differ slightly from place to place.

The overhang, or nosing, of deck steps is another area that will be covered in building code requirements. The noses on your deck steps should have a minimum overhang of ¾ inch. For safety, usability, and code compliance, the nosing of deck steps should not extend past 1¼ inches.
